Well you can't be on to the new one because our roster isn't set yet and the scrubs from last season haven't shown any improvement.

Thankfully there are people around to complain incessantly about incessant complainers. Otherwise who know where that might lead.

That would imply that you're more of nuisance to me than say a gnat. Basically, you're not worth the minimal amount of energy clicking on your username would require.

Solid advice for people who can't abide by the rules.

Putting people on an ignore list is a pain in the butt when trying to keep up with a tread they're posting in.

I've tested it before and had no problems, though, I don't have a problem with respecting other people's opinions or the board rules, so I don't use it.

I guess that's my problem, I don't respect opinions when I flat out know they are wrong.

That's not true, but this thread has probably been hijacked enough. We can continue in pm if you'd like.

    back to the thread.

if we could work out a trade with NO for lewis now that they want to deal and the addition of moats back, I think we could have improved the defense quite a bit. I'm still wondering about cortez and a move to FS if all this pans out. perfect? maybe not but better.

Maybe we can convince the Saints that Dri Archer is a young Darren Sproles and swap him for Keenan Lewis.

You know Pitt fans can sometimes just drive me nuts. The D "SHOULD" be better this year for the following reasons:

    1. The D Line should be improved....Why? Cause more than likely even if Cam Thomas is ON the team, it is unlikely that he gets a helmet weekly. McLendon, Tuitt, Heyward and McCullers is a really good start for a 5 man gameday unit. The final guy of that group is going to get maybe 5 plays a game. We can find a way to hide even Cam Thomas for THAT many plays.

    2. The OLB unit is going to be improved....Why? First, Jones and Shazier should actually get to play this year. Timmons we know about. That leaves 1 OLB position and depth. Everyone says, lets bring back Harrison, but truly I think he is only a fallback option. Tenn. is probably off the table for him now with their signings meaning we can wait and bring him back later. Moats, Jones, Lemon, and a 1st round draft pick could potentially be huge for this team. I like Lemon and think he is going to surprise many around here. Same could be said of H. Jones potentially.

    3. The S position should be better.....Why? First, I think Troy and his lack of speed being gone should be an improvement. Everyone around here was sold on Shamarko during year one when we had no choice but to play him in coverage, but they guys gets hurt and everyone goes sour on him. Mitchell will be in year 2 and I think he will be MUCH better.

    4. The CB position is yet to be determined, but even if we lose McCain, I don't think we are any worse, especially if Allen gets his head out of his butt. Gay, Allen, Blake, and Webb are no worse than what we played this past year. Add in a draft pick or 2 and I think we could be better here as well, especially if Lewis ends up back here at some point.

    5. Coaching. I know nobody wants to hear this, but I truly believe that Tomlin was ready for DL to go. He was tired of fighting about playing vets over young players. He was tired of not letting guys make mistakes on the field. McCullers needed to play to get better, instead we kept running Thomas out there. Shamarko needed to play, instead we kept running W. Allen out there after Troy got hurt.

I would trade a 4th or a 5th for Keenan Lewis, but I don't think the Saints will move him. There's the small matter of a $6.9 million dollar cap hit to them if they do.

edit: may actually be $4.5 million and only $2.5 million if traded after June 1st

they have already said they want to trade him. we should be interested. bringing in their other corner too kind of scares me though. two ex- saints? they were pretty bad if I remember last year. no use downgrading from what we had and even if they would be an upgrade of what we had is that enough?

The latest report is that they don't want to, but who knows.

Lewis posted this on his Instagram account last night.

"This is my home. I been here 28 years. From playing a high school championship in here, to helping Katrina victims with a little bit of my college funds, to trying my best to help this beautiful home and people get a Super Bowl. I love this place and every person who lives close or in it. Trust me, leaving was never an option. I love it too much. Who Dat."

well good then, don't even bother I'd say. if he doesn't want to be anywhere else I sure don't want him. it could affect his play if his head isn't into it.

Could just be NO going to him and saying we'll get you out of here, just dont make it impossible for us to get anything good in return. If I had to pick what were his true feelings, it would be his first reaction, second reactions are usually damage control.

from everything I read, he just wanted his last 3 years guaranteed, not that he wanted to go anywhere. they had trouble in that secondary though last year. robinson and he were a big part of that. makes me a little nervous bringing either of them here.
