Not really a sleeper. I have seen him as high as #16 on one of the various draft sites

I would like this pick. He's not much of a sleeper though at this point but still a great choice if he's there

Yea, most places I have seen have him right about our 2nd pick. Around 54. I wouldn't mind him at all. Things change of course closer to the draft. Guys will move around.

Tevin Jenkins moved way up from where he started last year. Many around here wanted him at that point. He struggled quite a bit this year. I had interest early when he was around the 3rd round, then he rose because of one block on a film. I wanted him as a right tackle. They tried to play him at left tackle and he had a tough time.

I think we did better with moore. He was another guy I liked last year. He actually played the position we drafted him for and at a pretty high level in college but what I read that was better about him was his ceiling was as high as any after a year of so. It means he learns and retains what he learns and improves. The talk from the coaches about him not making the same mistakes twice shows his assessment was spot on.

Penning looks like a good swing type guy. Start on the right and have the ability to move to the left if needed. We would have a young but mobile line with this type of player added.

I would love the Steelers to solve their O-Line problem with money this year and not chase an early offensive lineman.

Break the bank with Center Ryan Jensen and move Green to Guard.

I don't think moving Green to guard solves their problems, what if he struggles there too?

No, admit the mistake and bench him, the guys at Steelersdepot were saying when you move a bad center to guard you get a bad guard.

That theory only holds if you are moving an actual center.

Last year the Steelers made a guard play center and it did not go well.

I agree. I dont think throwing draft picks at the OL will instantly improve it. We would likely have the youngest line in the league again, and likely would see a lot of struggle even if our picks show promise. We have 50 million in open space (even more if Tuitt is done). Lets get us 2 FA OL, sign Minkah, sign JuJu, and then work on maybe getting a FA corner or ILB. That should all be doable with the available money. We can then use our top pick on a QB, DL, or ILB... even CB a possibility. Spread the OL picks out over a few years the next few years and have good FA guys that will cover us until then. Cant fix it all at once and cant fix it all in the draft.

we have 31 million. we carry about 3 mil. into the season for injuries. we have to pay the PS and draft picks too. not near as much as many think, uless we cut some dead wood. i'd like to see us draft a center or/and let hassenauer start out. if green doesn't work at guard leglue played pretty well and dotson will be back. he could move to the right side where he is more comfortable. we could get a RT/LT capable guy in free agency.

Penning has been fun to watch at the Senior Bowl. He’s a really aggressive player with a mean streak. The question is how much is too much? Is he going to have that level of aggression that’s “just right,” or is he going to be a 15 yard penalty machine? I feel pretty sure that his floor is a solid starter.

I’m willing to give the kid a chance at his natural position, guard, with a real OL coach. Hopefully, he’ll take some big steps in his second season. For those who have played football, especially o-line, you know there is so much more responsibility and thinking that goes into playing center than there is to playing guard.

Do we really need a tackle? Maybe it was Ben getting rid of the ball quick, but I though tackles did pretty will in pass pro second half of the year.

    Interior line is in shambles.

I think Chuks is a free agent. Depending on what his price tag ends up being, it may be best to let him go. He’s not that good. Moore has promise, but to me he looks like more of a RT type.

Really??. I think Moore is good . I mean he had His down times, but He was a rookie. Just my opinion, but He is my least of worries.

I liked Walter Football's first 2 round mock for the Steelers. Linderbaum in the first round and the monstrous tackle from Minnesota Daniel Faalele in the second. Faalele is 6'9" and 390 lbs but surprisingly agile.

How about getting rid of Banner and keeping Chuks ... Banner never played a full game at tackle. He is an unknown. Do we save more getting rid of his contract?

Sleepers (1996) was a good movie.
