Yup and they signed Samuel to the active roster.

I’m fine with blaming Tomlin, as he is certainly part of personnel decisions, but what about Khan and Weidl.

We have turned into a little bit of the old Washington Redskins (signing older high profile names that don’t work out).

I think this is a fair take. It is like the Patrick Peterson signing. Once big name corners who are long in the tooth.

You could probably add Ramsey to that list, except he has seemingly been better at safety.

When I saw Thielen got released - that was my first thought, thinking “watch, we will sign him”.

This is how it works for some fans the bad signings are on Tomlin, but the good signings are on Khan/Weidl .

If you’re a corner and can’t make it on the Steelers your career is over.

Clearly the Steelers did not want a full blown rebuild. It may have been their last attempt to get a ring for Heyward and Watt by using supposed plug and play players. It failed. This likely means neither will get a ring before they retire.

(btw, both are playing like they are resigned to that fact)

It feels like it was a proverbial Hail Mary. We were active in free agency, unusual big trades, etc.

We ended up cobbling together a team that doesn’t play like a team.

It doesn’t help that some of the people we brought in aren’t playing up to expectations. I also feel like Heyward and Watt need to take more ownership of that defense.

Slay was asked to pick-up the team's bar tab but he couldn't cover it.

The Patriots did about the same thing bringing in new pieces.

Because he was a healthy scratch against the Bills.
