Skylar Thompson on IR?

He had a finger injury. He is probably 100% now and throwing footballs thru spare tires at home. I bet the plan was to leave him on IR for the season unless they were planning to dump Skylar. The Steelers just signed Logan Woodside back the practice squad. He might become the 3rd QB (sort of) for 4 weeks while they activate Howard to take over as #3. I could see them rolling the dice and leaving him on the practice squad, banking on getting thru 4 games without a dual QB injury. After 4 weeks, Howard can be back.

I hope Howard will be able to catch the moving train.

 

If Woodside has to play the Steelers would be better off just forfeiting the game.

 

I think it is more likely they elevate Woodside from the practice squad each week to serve as emergency QB, as Thor mentioned. Only reason not to do it is the need to elevate two other guys. They already gave Pierre the extra roster spot so they don't need to elevate him this week.
