Was yesterday a sign of things to come or was it simply he was facing a backup center and guard?

Maybe a little bit of both? Maybe Harmon will continue to help him take a step?

I don't want to get too hyped for a good game or too down on him for the bad ones. He was a lot better his first two seasons than he was the first two/three games this season. He clearly had one of his (if not THE) best game of his career yesterday. I hope its a sign that he's motivated and on the upswing. I wouldn't expect him to be that guy every week, but it is good to see that the downward trend of his play corrected itself and he figured it out a bit. There's good play in there. We just gotta figure out how to bring it out more often.

I think he is going to be solid for us. there is still a lot of time for him.

what I think is awesome is how this front line is playing. if Heyward could decide to play instead of dreaming about twinkies, we would have the best front line in the league.

It's also amazing what a little rest between possessions can do.

Don't act like Heyward isn't helping that line. The OL shows who they are afraid of, and these 1st 4 games it's Watt, and Heyward, and now when others are starting to feast , this will help all.

We shall see. I actually believe we will see many on the D get a bit better each week.

Not getting too high or too low is my general attitude. However, I wouldn’t say he was better the last two years. His rookie year was solid, but he regressed in year two, and up until yesterday has continued that downward trajectory. It’s frustrating that he hasn’t learned or at least shown any additional pass rush moves. Hoke’s observations carry a lot of weight for me. He played the position well and knows what to look for etc. it’s frustrating that this is year 3 and he’s still struggling with technique.

Heyward has taken a big step back. He's made a couple plays that were big and helped. But he's a made a ton of stuff that makes a 7th round rookie look amazing.

Heyward is one of the top DL in the league so far this year

    Pff has him at #3

As I told someone many years ago “you can’t apply regression analysis to non linear models you have to make it flat”

He just gave me a WTF look

I suspect that is what I will get here

Lets see if he can stack productive weeks. That's why Cam has had the career he has had,.He stacked good performances.

What are you talking about? He’s made a couple plays, but outside of that he’s been outplayed by 7th round rookies.

Let's see if he can string a few good games together. Helps him when we call multiple blits packages during a game, instead of him getting double teamed and blown up consistently

Curious if you could name the 7th round rookie (or rookies) you might be referring to?

He can’t. He’s just butthurt because cam made him look like a fool last season. Despite his claims he’s doing it once again.

It was simply because he was facing a backup center and guard.
