That makes sense for backup duty, but we're talking about his replacement. I doubt they put Thomas at FS full time.

Although, maybe they will, so they can continue having a FS enforcer. I will miss Clark's presence when he leaves, but Thomas is the most threatening guy we've had in awhile back there, aside from the two starters.:dancing:

I'm not sure how this is even a question. Clark has been/still is one of the best defenders we have. Everyone is talking about his tangibles but I'm going to mention a couple of intangibles: intelligence, intimidation, leadership. If you don't think clark intimidates there are a few big name players around the league that would argue with you. Clark is probably one of the most intelligent players on the field. The guy is always in a good position and picks up a lot of slack for other players. Finally, leadership-you can't replace the knowledge and experience he brings to this team. Like Snack said, at his position I don't think slowing down a step is going to hurt him. Having said all that I will admit that I am biased, Clark is probably my second favorite player on the team behind Superman (I knew I could find a way to mention my bromance in this thread).

Absolutely yes. I haven't seen a sign of his play dropping off. If anything, I think he had one of his best seasons last year. He was one of our best defenders, especially when others were struggling. I agree with ISJ on what he brings to the table. I also agree with Snack that Thomas is better suited to be a SS long-term. There is no viable replacement for Clark on our roster.

Resign for 1 or 2 years max. We need him for this year and maybe next, depending on the new guys and how the develop. In two more years he would be too slow and too old.
