Should the Steelers be in on a JJ McCarthy trade for a day 3 picks?

That was why I said that Jones better think twice as fast as everyone else on the field.

Being a QB supercomputer can totally over-come lack of physical tools. I did not watch Jones play last season. But the last time I did...he was not a QB supercomputer. He was just a guy. Maybe he has sped up his thinking to a degree that he can be more than that?

Who knows? We haven't really gotten to see him other than a couple times since he left NE. Guys like that will always fail or succeed based off their processing. The young guys like him are Sayin, Simpson, Mendoza, etc.

    • Williams was <60% passer last season. He misses easy throws. Maybe he'll get better, maybe not.
    • I'm not convinced Daniels will have a long career in the NFL. He's gotten beat up in a couple seasons.
    • Nix will be good in Payton's offense.
    • Stroud's post season hasn't convinced me that he'll stay a starter. He was horrific.
    • Dart & Ward, like you say, too early (but I was hoping the Steelers drafted Dart )

Interesting, but if You look at the Tua draft, there are a few I would take the check off of, no??

Can we really call Mayfield resurrected??? He was ok in Cleveland, and then sucked, and then he was good in Tampa , and then sucked again last year in Tampa 26 tds, 11 ints, and 11 fumbles last year. That doesn't sound too resurrected to me. I think he is what he has always been when you average it all out. Average to ok as a Qb.

Could have had Jaxson Dart, instead being made to look like desperate clowns by a 42 year old who is taking the team nowhere - for the 2nd year running...

    :lolol:

Murray, and Tua. Unless I'm not understanding it correctly. They both have been let go by their teams ,even though their teams still owe them big money. So is that a success? Also we don't know how they will look at the new teams. At least Daniel Jones looked fairly OK at Indy. Although I could be reading this all wrong.

Murray and Tua have always been mediocre, and I don't expect anything different just because they're now on different teams. I'm thankful that the Steelers didn't make a play for either one of them.

Just trade Watt, no need for Crosby.

When nothing changes on how they do business, a lot of people are going to owe Tomlin an apology. Rooney and Kahn....like Rooney and Colbert before....always were in control.

I agree, but I kinda think Murray has ability, but not the want, or desire to be good enough, so again, I agree with you

My narrow definition; they both got second contracts from their drafting teams. Are they world beaters? No.

Well, sure. When is an owner not in control? Steeler fans have this image of the owner taking a back seat and letting the football guys do football things. But is that really true over the years?

I was hoping the Steelers would draft Jaxon Dart too. I watched a lot of Giants games last year, and I was very impressed by Dart's playmaking ability. It would've been an exciting season for the Steelers with Dart. With Rodgers, it was just boring.
