In the Three Rivers stadium days sure. But in the Heinz Field/Kordell/Maddox days I don't recall us being big on free agency.

I think it is more a matter of this being Colbert's last six weeks as GM and he actually has cap room to work with for once.

253 tackles, 4 interceptions, 10 passes defended, 2.5 sacks, 8 tackles for loss. not as bad as many think. jack has 226 tackles, 1 interception, 5 passes defended, 1 sack, 9 tackles for loss. thats both guys the last two years and schobert had to change teams.

no not really, they just save some money and it's not that much. the numbers are right in front of you and them. bush isn't even in the same catagory as jack and schobert. every year the steelers have changed LB'ers.

I like Myles chances of succeeding in the Steelers defense more than Schobert did.

Schoberts fate was driven by that ridiculous contract. And really he wasn't a shining star for that money. Myles Jack will have the same if not more tackles and should provide an upgrade hopefully.

Its Bush that needs to be gone as well but they will trot him out there, Hopefully they draft an ILB in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd round. So when the fashion plate struggles with mind madness we have a replacement.

Funny. I would think a Steelers fans would have actually watched the games and noticed just how badly Schobert played most of last season. I guess not.

Many of Schobert's tackles were far from the LoS. Some of it could have been a function of the interior line. But he seemed to have trouble shedding blocks at times and it appeared he was chasing the play much more than attacking. Bush being ass most of the season didn't help, either. Still, with the salary Joe was making, he was obviously going to be the odd man out once they signed Jack. He might be better off in a different situation. Nothing against him at all as I think he was a good team-mate and a good dude. Just didn't work out here.

Not at that price for Schobert though.
