Is this a case of the NIL coming to the NFL?

How One Clause In Shedeur Sanders’ NFL Contract Changes Everything - Pro Football Action
This clause isn’t just about money. It’s about ownership, legacy, and control. As Cassius put it: “Shedeur Sanders is gonna be one of the richest quarterbacks ever!”

No clue how the NFL could owe the 144th pick of this years draft $14 million because of Jersey Sales, but buried in Shedeur's contract is something called the Prime Equity Clause that states Sanders gets 5% of everything that has his Name, Image, or Likeness on it.

This means that for each Sanders Jersey that the NFL sales they owe Shedeur Sanders about $7.50 if the jersey sales for $150. I guess now we know what a player may be doing when he is staring into the stands... Counting his money.. $7.50 there, $7.50 there, $7.50 there, and a whole lot of $7.50s in the endzone... Life is Good to be an NFL player with a "Prime" Equity Clause in your NFL contract.

I wonder what type of cut he gets for online gaming sites using his name; if he ever gets to play???

Do the team realize this when they drafted him? I can't even begin to understand the verbiage, but I cannot imagine owners are happy, lol.
