In all honesty the Steelers probably made the smart move here. Hiring Munchak's assistant isn't a sexy move, but it may be the best move for 2019 from a continuity stand point. At least with Sarrett, Munchak's system of doing things, line calls, etc will stay in place. My biggest concern is will Sarrett be able to develop young talent beyond 2019. Munchak seemed to have everyone on the same page and performing well. Gilbert and Foster are not going to play forever, and Pouncey isn't getting any younger.

Wasn't Butler DL's assistant? Hows that working out for us?

Mmm. There is an argument that he left because of our chaos, but Elway has destroyed the Broncos with his mismanagement. Seems to me he just jumped into a bigger dumpster fire. Maybe not just family reasons, but perhaps he thinks he can move up over there to HC. Just a thought.

we have many future linemen here and they worked under sarrett and munch. hawkins, finney, cheek, morris, banner, prince, feiler, so the base has been taught by both our coaches for a year or longer. i have faith in sarrett and he's been in line for this job for awhile when munch was going to go. this spot was good planning.

Exactly. I used to be in favor of promoting from within, but now I think the Steelers do it entirely too much.

Elway's been hit or miss, it worked out well with Manning and canning John Fox (hint hint) at the right time. But you're right Munch has a better chance of potentially being a HC in Denver as opposed to here where the reason is just stupidity.

I have heard rumors that Von Miller and Elway don't get along and that Miller may want out. If so that says a lot about Elway mangement style.

Everything is home grown here: promoting from within, 3 HCs in 50, we rarely move around the draft board, we never sign impact (i.e. outside) free agents, we hang onto failed draft picks far longer than we should, we "do what we do" without concern for opponent, and on and on and on. Consistency is great unless it's consistently doing stupid ****. The owner is a huge problem.
