I saw this wrong - badly last night.

    What an impressive SECOND HALF!

i was concerned early with the Fish running right, but Tua froze in the cold.

KUDO's to the guys that COULD PLAY. So nice to see Asante out there.

this team has not quit, and you gotta LOVE GAINWELL!

I will eat the crow gladly today.....

I never had a doubt about last nights game. I just thought it would be a bit less scoring. Steelers need to get Prevent defense out of the late game plans though.

Is that the time that the Steelers go into Prevent defense and the kittens start a hopeful comeback?

No... game will likely be out of reach. Goff is a much better QB than Tua T. Lions have better weapons, too... at RB and WR. Lions have been mediocre this year, but Steelers DO NOT in any way, match up well against them. Unless Rodgers can run up the score at least in the low 30's... this game will be over by the end of 3rd quarter.

At Heinz/Acrisure... I'd give the Steelers a puncher's chance on the grass field. But on the turf in Detroit... our D is gonna get smoked.

I’m starting to think that you have an entire closet full of opponents jerseys just waiting there for game day.:hmm:

It's not how you coach a real game though my friend. You are up 25 points in the 4th. You want everything in front of you, you don't care if they score, you only care if they score on one play. You made them use about 12, or more minutes to score twice, and to be honest if holding was called, it would have been way longer than that.
You also expect that you will get opportunities to milk the game yourself. This isn't the first half, this is the 4th quarter. The only thing you are worried about is one play scores, and the easiest way to give up one play scores is not keeping everything in front of you.

Thank You. This will either make you 4-11, or 3-12 on the predictions you say before every game.

Say what you will about my allegiance to Steelers, but there is nothing I've seen in these last 2 wins over Ravens and Dolphins to convince me this is a team that can win a playoff game against elite AFC teams. I hope I'm wrong.

I was bothered by the offense 3 and out the last two possessions, didnt seem interested in getting a first down at all. That would milk the clock, too.

It also might be that I am miffed about the $600 riding on Metcalf gaining 5 more yards which never happened

    Agreed.
Yeah, I was more upset at that myself. Because we got more than one opportunity to milk the clock away.

Broncos, Bills, Patriots, Texans, Chargers, Jaguars.

Steelers have only defeated Patriots and had to win the turnover battle at a 5 to 1 ratio. Bills and Chargers annihilated Steelers.

I still think the additions of Thielin and MVS have solidified this offense. Rodgers has complete control now knowing that everyone out there is running the proper routes. His best 2 games of the year has been since these veteran receivers have joined the team.

Before the season we heard the Chiefs, Ravens were elite and no way could they be beaten in the playoffs .

Spot on. I also think there was an element of wanting to exit this arctic game (which they lead by 25 points into the 4th qtr) relatively healthy knowing they were down to 3rd and 4th stringers in certain positions. I don't have a problem with the 2 gimme TDs late - they played tough when they needed to earlier to grab that big lead. Fortunately for the Steelers and unfortunately for the Dolphins, Miami seemed to be employing a similar tactic late first half and through the 3rd qtr.

Chiefs made the mistake of relying on Mahomes to continuously bail them out. He needs help on the OL and skill positions... and he will get that help in the offseason.

Ravens defense has regressed just as bad as Steelers vs run. Only difference is... Rodgers has played better overall than Jackson.

My opinion about the Head Coach hasn't changed. He gets credit for last night, but I am not going overboard, winning against a couple .500 teams simply 'meets expectations'.

Nice to see Mike Tomlin doing his job. He has more work to do.

Still three games left, an AFC North title looks likely, but needs to finish the job. Winning a playoff game is another matter.

hmm.. maybe they are doing the little things like rubs of routes because Theilen has done little to nothing IMO.

Maybe Rodgers is just happy to have older players who laugh at his snark.

We have not really played a team that was firing on all cylinders this season. Chicago might be the closest to a team playing at their potential when we played them this season (IMO). I see the lions as the late season, where do we stand? game, especially for our defense. The lion's offense is #1 on points, 3 on passing yards, 5 on rushing yards, and 3rd overall on yards. They have a mediocre defense and hopefully AR continues his blast from the past to get some points on the board. This is the game that is going to show us what our defense has left in the tank.

This was the first and only game this season that I have actually been ok with a prevent defense.

I still don't like it when you are beating them on everything. Keep the foot on the gas. But, I did not feel an impending heart attack for a change. There is a time and a place for a prevent defense to eat up the clock when you have a big lead. The Steelers tend to go prevent with only a 1 score lead in the 4th all too often and that is the wrong time.

I do think that our prevent defense needs to tighten up and find a happy middle ground. It is not really a prevent defense if you let them have 8 to 12 yards every play. They go down the field and score quickly, taking too little time off the clock. Sometimes we are giving them so much free yardage that the time difference between our prevent defense and giving up a big play to score is less than a minute off the clock. It doesn't help if their drives take 92 seconds and there is still 7 minutes on the clock. Miami had worse timeout use than Tomlin has ever had, kept running plays into the middle of the field with no chance to stop the clock, Tua kept taking the play clock down low, and the players made no effort to get out of bounds when running near the sideline. Miami helped us burn the clock big time in the 4th. Could have been a vastly different experience for us if they had acted like the clock was important. I know that Miami fans are very unhappy with McDaniel. Maybe he has lost the locker room as well? Because the players were sure acting like they wanted to game over as fast as they could get it over.
