I’m a bit surprised that the Steelers didn’t address the CB or S positions. Are we set at those positions with late acquisitions? Donte Kent? Joshua Bledsoe? Should we still be concerned with our secondary? Seemed like the Steelers largely ignored it. BPA was the formula this year.

I guess there's only so many picks you can make. They signed Echols and Slay, and Elliot and Fitzpatrick are solid starters at safety.

I wasn't surprised they didn't draft a CB early, they didn't seem to show much interest in them in the pre-draft process. They did sign Thornhill in free agency he will likely be the third safety.

The steelers are just happy with the tackle the catch and soft coverage philosophy even if it never work when it matter the most

    yea thornhill was added.

bishop didn't play bad as a rookie. we have added some players we will have to see how it goes but that's part of the process. they have starters in place. we have some nice looking depth if they pan out as they think. that's what you hope for drafting and picking up other players. it doesn't start on paper it will start in camp. slay can play, philly just hit on a couple of phenoms that were cheaper.

Slay could be boom or bust at this stage of his career. Obviously, we want the all pro Slay, but at 34 and no INTs last year, we could get the Slay who has lost a step and gets too many DPI penalties.

Can only draft so much. Wasn't a great DB draft either. I think Castro makes the team, too. There are also a lot of short term contracts (expiring '25 & '26) with our DBs so that will probably be a focus next year as well.

Sebastian Castro was a very good UDFA pick up at Safety.

I would have liked to see a slot Cb taken. Kent could be that guy for us. Unfortunately we only had so many picks this year. Honestly I would like to see them move Minkah down to the Slot when they empty the 3 safety look. Perhaps thats what they are considering.

Hopefully then JPJ can learn all he can from Slay to become a much better player. Same goes for Trice. Of the two, Trice panning out in 2025 will do wonders for the team moving forward in 2026. That may lead to the CB Concern being lower in terms of need.

Sebastian Castro makes the team and can become a Slot CB or Deep Half Zone Safety. Don't Kent is going to challenge Beanie for the Slot CB role primarily and the team has Cory Trice.

Not ideal I know but as others have said, this DB Class was more top heavy than others gave it credit for. 2026 will feature a much deeper class for both Safety and Cornerback. Pittsburgh can attack both spots there if Minkah still cannot regain his All Pro form and if Cory Trice doesn't pan out.

First place in the lowly NLC. Only 6 games ahead of Pirates. I'm as sure we will catch them as I am of living to 110.

Theyre probably hoping to milk what they have in the DB for at least another year. Agree with what they did, shored up DL and an upgrade at RB. That i think was the priority

    correct.

    secondary does not matter.

    9-7, here we come.

we can't coach them, or scheme them. draft picks would not have mattered.

Would have liked them to take Xavier Watts when they had the chance. Still a good draft. On paper anyway.
