So I got fired yesterday and while internally there is fear about supporting my family outwardly I am relieved. I hated my job. Yes getting 25 an hour for putting parts in a box was good money for something robots could do but I just hated everything about it for the last 13 years. So for the first time since @TerribleTowelFlying@TerribleTowelFlying went live with the site I will not have weekends free for football and hockey. I'm sure panic will set in soon but for now, training camp 2023 will start my season of change.....this is the way.

That sucks man, but I’m sure you’ll be better off in the long run.

Pulling for you Thorn, you've been a good long time TSF friend, we joined about the same time. Be tuned in to new doors appearing for you to open - my belief is this is how life works - closed doors/open doors. Endless opportunities if you follow your instincts and use enthusiasm to overcome fear. I was in a similar place about 20 years ago when my work slowed down immensely and was blessed with prophetic words that I wrote down: "It's all before me". Meaning everything I needed to bounce back was within reach, I just had to see it and act. Best of luck with your new chapter. :thumbs up:

Only look on the bright side...because looking at the other will not change anything. Whether You believe , or not....I pray for You, and Your family. All the best .

Thanks everyone I appreciate it. The wife and I were both frustrated and looking for something other than the company. We may end up closer to where our oldest goes to college because it's a better area to find work in a field that will challenge us.

How can you be sure you won't have weekends free???? I'm assuming you have everyday free right now and soon will find another job with I hope for you has weekends off.

GOOD LUCK in your search and may it be a Monday thru Friday job.

Sorry to hear that especially if was out of the blue, but as you said you hated it. Only good things to come. You always seem to be cool calm and collective and that should be an asset for future adventures. Which is exactly what it is, an adventure. The worst thing is to have a job you hate.

Life is too short to dread going to work. Do what you love and you will never 'work' a day, is a cliche, yet very true.
