Smith-Schuster is the most likely option for the slot when they go with three wide, with Hunter or Washington in the role Bryant played last season.

The team had needs (KR, PR, back up slot receiver) and addressed them all with one move by trading back one round in next years draft. Is the team better tonight than they were this morning? Time will tell, but it sure looks that way. For a team that is trying to win it all this year, every little edge could make the difference. This trade was a no brainer and a great move. Bravo Colbert.

I thin we're long past due relieving AB from punt returns. He's far too valuable as a receiver.Ben and AB go together like glue.

The no return game is league wide not just Steelers.

I see him in NE before all is said and done.

I don't see any downside to this trade, but I wonder why he wasn't going to make the cut in Oakland....

I did like the forward pitch end around they ran with Henderson against TN - reminded me of so many of his wild runs at Pitt. That's how they beat undefeated Clemson 2 years ago. Alas, the CFL is probably licking their chops when he gets cut on Sunday.

When I got the update on my phone yesterday I was like WTF, now that I have had time to look at things I am not totally upset with this. This is a lot like the Vance trade last year, right down to the swap in draft picks. Salary wise it is great since he is signed for 3 years basically at peanuts and we can let him go not costing us any dead money. His return skills is his strong suit and imo why we got him here.

With all that said I was hoping Patterson and Henderson would get a crack at a roster spot. What I don't like is now we will have Switzer and DHB taking up 2 roster spots for mainly ST! I know many here are saying Switzer is a slot guy I hope so I just don't like to have 2 guys at a position not having a lot to offer that position.

AB - Juju and Wahington are a nice 1-2-3 but after that Hunter-DHB and Switzer leave me a little worried if one of the first 3 goes down. JMO Welcome aboard Switz

Switzer comes in as 6th WR and KR/PR.

He gets the gig and will be his job to lose until Eli Rogers is healthy. Depending on how Switzer plays he could cement that job.

Return experience and Rogers being put on IR. The tale of the tape will be how he contributes returning in which they are in dire need. Throw in a little slot action and looks at this time to be a solid signing.

I don't see the downside of this move. We have gotten absolutely nothing from kick and punt returns in recent memory. Dude just needs to field the ball cleanly and fall forward and we are instantly upgraded there.

Not so sure about that, I found this:

He still had a shot to carve out a role as a returner for the Raiders, but returned just three punts in three preseason games for a total of two yards and two fair catches. Fellow offseason addition Griff Whalen had a stronger showing during the preseason, leaving Switzer as the odd man out.

Was wondering how much of it is on the return guy and how much on the blockers opening holes. I'm thinking the problem is more the later then the former.

    Not certain DHB makes it.

    AB
    JuJu
    Washington
    Hunter
    Switzer

Will they keep 6? DHB makes it if they do.
