I think a few years ago they had lost their balance , not the run pass balance but the offense /defense balance. They had Ben still playing well, Bell and Brown and the Oline was one of the better ones in the league. The defense was getting torched and not very good so they invested heavily in the defense but missed badly on a few picks that were reaches or projects. Burns , Davis, Edmonds maybe Bush. As that was happening Bell wanted to get paid like a WR and a RB, then Burfict broke Browns brain and he went off the rails. Meanwhile the Oline aged and dropped off very steeply after Munch left. I can't remember the last DB they have drafted that really worked out, Ike maybe.
When fully healthy with all the starters the defence was moving up and becoming a force, at the same time the engine that drives the offense the Oline was burning oil and had a serious knock.
Thinking they could start a rookie guard at center and then a rookie tackle with a left guard who only played 300 snaps last year. Then look in the scrap heap for the other guard and depth all the time thinking Okorafor could anchor the right side. Seeing how bad it looks now with Dotson out and everyone struggling ( although LeGlue looks decent )
Keeping a totally immobile QB who can't use play action because he refuses or is not capable of being under center and then handcuffing him with a pop gun offensive scheme.
I think we were all drinking the cool aid expecting some miracle that all those moves would become a cohesive offensive machine in one year.

    Not me.

I stated specifically that growing pains were to be expected for this young Offensive before, during and after the 2021 Draft. Stood by those statements then and do now. My optimism stemmed from the young corps of Offensive Players being able to improve as the season went on. Sadly, this has not been the case.

Inconsistency and a lack of urgency has cost this team games; through and through. Many people point to the horrific start to the Vikings game. However, slow starts have been a theme all season for this team. Even back in Week One, Buffalo was up by 10 points in the first half. That has sadly been the major negative of this team overall.

So right… someone who Chase actually listens to needs to tell him that he can’t “build his brand” without performing and winning first.

Yeah, but AB made himself into a great player with hard work before he imploded emotionally. Chase wants to just have his “brand” now because of potential.

Ben has a hand in the line being the way it is now as well. How many years was it when he said he wanted this guy or that guy and didn't want to play behind any other guy?

So you draft backups to fit what you think you need to make him happy and you don't have a viable line in place when you're going to transition away from Ben.

Then all of a sudden the center piece retires, the other guy was trying to play through a recurring injury, other tackle play drops off so you cut him and you have to throw rookies and an undersized center out there to play the longest season ever...

Some dislike of Ben is so bad now it's his fault why the line is so bad , and why they drafted bad o line players. . Did He make them draft $hit Cbs, an Safeties also. This is why I can't take the Ben needs 2 quit stuff seriously from most people on Here.
Or the Ben needs 2 go because He's not mobile, but the same people suggest Matt Ryan, or K. Cousins. LoL.
The Most mobile Qb in the league has less Tds passing, and rushing put together than Ben has, and has 6 more turnovers. Yeah ....would really help us. LoL
