They like Wheaton and the kid does look promising. Seems humble too.

Funny what he said about Mendy. Fall into the category, the Truth Hurts?

That's pretty much what the analysts said when we drafted him. A wr with better hands, better routes, and stronger than Wallace.

Based on the draft alone, I see no reason why Wheaton couldn't potentially be better than Wallace.

    Wallace Round 3...pick 84
    Wheaton Round 3....pick 79

So logically it fits that he could potentially be better.

Very good to hear. I'm like what I've seen from Wheaton so far, and it's good to hear something like this from Clark.

    :lolol:

I have to admit that after I posted it, I saw the potential for someone to say they were 'furiously fist pumping'.

I call a quick slant across the middle.

“I’m going to say something here about the Mike Wallace thing…Markus Wheaton, and you can take this how you want…Markus Wheaton is better than Michael Wallace at everything but one thing. Speed. That’s it. He does everything else better…as far as route running, he’s more polished. I think he has better hands…I think he’s ready to step in and play.”, said Clark.

Hmmm. Where have I heard before that Mike Wallace has one exceptional skill, speed, and that everything else is ordinarily average? :hmmm: Anybody?

    Good for Clark! :applaud:
He tells it like it is. Wheaton has at least "two tricks" better than speedy Wallace.

I don't think any of this should surprise anyone. I mean if had ELITE skills other than his speed, he wouldn't have been a 3rd round pick....he would have been a first round pick.

It's nice that Clark is building confidence into this kid, but I hope it doesn't get to Wheaton's head like it did to Wallace, or Wheaton will be asking for stupid money when it gets to contract time. I don't want to hear this money crew crap again.

I'm not worried about that. Wheaton's not like Wallace/Brown/Sanders that way.

OK, did anyone else see who he omitted at RB?

Did he just drop the secret with his "Get (Bell) healthy with Redman and LaRod...", conveniently omitting Dwyer?

He also omitted Baron Batch, who I would drop before I drop Dwyer.
