You know, there is a difference between not agreeing with the law and not complying with the law. Just because it's "illegal" doesn't mean you have to be against using it. In fact, isn't that how laws are amended/changed?

I'm actually fine with what Ryan said. Pot is already a part of public debate and he's just adding more discussion to it. Was really anybody surprised of what he said? Pot received a bad wrap in the 30's because of some folks who wanted to protect their timber business from Hemp. It's always about money isn't it? Dirt bags, er I mean founding fathers like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams smoked pot and grew fields of hemp for other purposes as well. Remember, Hemp and it's cousin marijuana are only illegal so that some rich man could protect his money. It had nothing to do with the health and safety of us citizens. It's even laughable that it's scheduled as a class 1 drug (that's higher than coke, heroin and meth!) So yeah, I see why 1/3 of the players use it. The law is a joke to begin with.

So if you don't agree with a law then just break it?

That's not what I said and I'm certainly not condoning illegal behavior. What I'm saying is if you don't agree with a law, you at least have the freedom to express that.

It's also still illegal to sing in the bathtub in PA, just sayin....

No problem with people expressing their opinion or even trying to get a law changed.

AHH yes Henry David Thoreau comes to mind.

That's one great American. Our founding fathers did the same thing.
Like some one stated earlier it was made illegal NOT because of its affects it was all industrial. The icebreaker was that immigrants were in the country smoking weed and raping women and stealing, they just happened to be Latino, and the scare tactic was started .Then came the movie Reefer Madness totally agenda for big business of plastics and fuels.DuPont spearheaded a lot of the campaign.

Civil Disobedience is what created this country, don't let it die.

I'm not going to argue what the reasons for it being illegal are, I don't care. If someone wants to challenge the law and work to get the law changed that's fine.
Right now it's illegal in most states and if you get caught you're going to get in trouble.
And comparing our country's Revolution to a bunch of stoners wanting to get high is absurd!

It really is more than that Glenn; it's mostly about principle. It's also about how my niece couldn't get access to medical mj to help with her seizures because some fatcats wanted to keep their pockets full. So yes, when money means more than her health, we have a problem and I'll do my best to change this law and others where common sense should prevail.

Tell her to come to CA. She'll be able to get a medical pot card for a hangnail! Just don't look for a clinic in San Diego. You have to go to the surrounding towns.

    SO TRUE.
It doesn't have to be to get high.
An acre of hemp produces 10times the pulp than a full grown forest, and grows back every year where it's minimal 10 years of white pine.
Gilbert Gatebraith ran for senate in KY on the hemp platform.
His clothes were hempalong with every pamphlet, yard sign his car was all from hemp and fuel by hemp. The food he ate and oils for cooking was hemp.everything he did was with hemp and he spent 100,000 dollars on his campaign. He didn't win but he finished ahead of people who spent over 2-3 million on their campaign.
People demonized hemp lumping it into a drug whaen actually it's just industrial and it's uses are gobs and gobs better than plastics.
Bottom line "what's up Ryan" should have never said "on his team".

I'm just happy pot is getting talked about a lot lately and while not all is good it's still the first step towards legalization. Washington and Colorado are the test states and as long as everything goes well there I think it's going to spread like a wild fire.

There was a 60 minutes special last year that I watched where the Medicinal Marijuana doctor was prescribing pot to 3 different people who were only in her office less than 15 minutes each and then they walk out the front door, turned left and walked into the very next door to the dispensary.

I for one believe that it should be legalized for recreational use throughout the US and there should be no doctor visit needed however I don't really care to watch a 53 man roster of stoners trying to win a super bowl. It simply wouldn't be the best physical product to put on the field.

Neither do I but I think that aspect of it should be handled by the league/team and not by federal law. Similar to how I wouldn't want to watch a 53 man roster of drunks, although that would be rather funny to watch.

Furthermore exhaustion is worse then being drunk and high and if this child is in a carrier car seat that means he is under one and anyone who has kids knows that first year is nothing but exhaustion. That was pretty childish to post that to try and prove your point but your point this whole time is "it's against the law"

    Or worse...

Marijuana wasn't the cause here. I'm sure it didn't help. And I don't want to be cold about this, but lets face it, she was going to hurt that child through neglect sooner or later.

Or would we feel better about it if she was on Nyquil?

Are you serious? You're going to resort to one off potshots like this? I can't even begin to deconstruct your argument because it's so sanctimonious and asinine.

Surprised this thread hasn't been overgrown by weeds yet.
then again, it is allergy season.
The focus here should be that "What's up Ryan?" ran his mouth about his teammates.
    A rat is a rat.
