In my opinion, our top 5 rivals are as follows...

    1. Ravens
    2. Browns
    3. Bengals
    4. Patriots
    5. Cowboys?...Raiders? Not too sure, it kinda rotates.

    For the moment I think,

    1. Ravens
    2.Bengals
    3.Raiders
    4.Patriots
    5.Cowboys
I drop the Browns out of the top 5. I believe since the Browns came back since 1999 we have a record of 30-6. I'm not sure how that's considered a rivalry. Now if they get good again someday. They could jump back up in the top 5.

I guess you're right, the "Steelers vs Browns" has a nice ring to it but this team in Cleveland parading around in the uniform of a once proud franchise is a disgrace to the rivalry of old. Seeing Pittsburgh go up against the Orange & Brown is a lot sexier than battling the boys in Purple but it is what it is these days.

I dont see Dallas in any way a rivalry, our competition is in the AFC, we seldom ever play the cow pukes any more only when we draw the NFC East on our schedule, other wise they have no direct effect on our conference standings other than we need to beat them, which we will so I say scratch them off the rivalry list.....

If we are talking current/recent rivals, this is my list.
All time rivals I would have to think a little more on.

    1. Patriots
    2. Ravens
    3. Bengals
    4. Broncos
    5. Browns

    2. Patsies
    3. Cowgirls
    4. Bungals
    5. Raiders (by default) because they haven't been relevant in years

To me, right now, there's only 2... Ravens and Bengals.

Patriots might get in there as an dishonorable mention.

Simple Definition of rival - Merrian Webster
    • : a person or thing that tries to defeat or be more successful than another
This would infer all 31 other teams.
    • : something or someone that is as good or almost as good as another person or thing
    This pretty well eliminates Cleveland.

But I'm going with Baltimore and Cinci. Dallas and Oakland are old news for us. Ditto New England.

    1. Ravens
    2. Bengals
    3. Patriots
    4. Raiders
    5. Broncos

People forget the Broncos have owned us more often than not in the playoffs... exception being AFC Championship game in January of '06. Raiders deserve to be mentioned just because of 70's rivalry. Plus the Raiders have beaten us recently ('09 '12 and '13) with absolutely horrible teams. Agree with Cowboys... we don't play them often enough to be considered a rivalry. One game every 4 years does not make a rivalry.

Patriots.. nothing needs to be said. The Steelers are Tom Brady's *****. Period.

I'd say right now... the Texans and Chiefs can be included as major threats. Both have solid teams, with questionable QBs.

Until we beat Marcia in NE they will always be a rival - although the word "try" let alone "defeat" in the definition of rival is questionable in NE w/ Marcia at the helm - now officially on my bucket list and hope it's on Ben's as well.

Just thought back on how the Bills were the perennial boogie man rival nearly every year in late 80's into mid 90's until we walloped them good 40-21 in opening round of '95 SB run when Neil O could still distinguish jersey colors.

Don't forget the Monday night game in '96 when Jerome Bettis single-handedly massacred the Bills.

Forgot about that game but checking it out - Bettis and Pegram combined for about 230 yds rushing with the new starting QB Mike Tomczak since Neil O bailed town. Steelers won Div with a 10-6 record and trounced Indy in playoffs but got smeared by NE the following week managing only 3 pts. The Bus won Comeback POY. The re-start of a great HOF career.
