They don't have a rookie in Chicago.

We're doing way better than the previous years with the rookie.

They wouldn't put James as #2 over Freiermuth that would stunt his growth, they used a 2nd round pick on him and he needs to play as much as possible.

Doesn’t mean anything, Muth is a 2nd rd pick, James would have been 3rd string, he’d be insurance.

The #88 throws me off a bit, expecting pirouettes.

I am hoping Pat can overtake Ebron fairly quickly.
Much more dependable player than Ebron is. A better blocker
    right out of the gate.

TJ Hockensen was the 8th pick in the draft and split snaps with Jesse as a rookie.

You guys expecting Mini Gronk out of the gate are likely in for a rude awakening.

There is a great deal of territory between mini-Gronk and solid blocker who catches enough passes to keep defenses honest. I'm guessing he will be closer to the latter as a rookie.

If you are going to go with anecdotal evidence, Heath Miller started 15 games as a rookie. He caught 39 passes for 459 yards and six touchdowns. He caught seven more passes and one touchdown in the playoffs.

It’s funny ebron has significantly more drops than sweed, but ebron gets nothing but love from the fan base.

I would do backflips if he put up those numbers as a rookie.

The 2005 Steelers were bereft of legit targets for Ben outside of Hines, something that won't be the case this season.

You may want to order a case of this if you're going to try to argue with me all year. First can's on me.

Seriously if you are just parroting paid analysts work and then whining because no body takes your attempts at discussion seriously there really is zero point in continuing because why settle for second hand arguments when the source would be better.

If you're gonna troll you should be able to handle a little trolling yourself.

Heath Miller as a rookie was a pretty good target, IMO. So was Antwaan Randle El. Both were more reliable than DJ and Ebron.

Muth isn’t the starting TE, think you are missing that point. There’s no reason he would be bumped to number 3 if they signed James.

I think you just thought James would be better than 3rd string until it was pointed out that is what he will be in Chicago and now twisting yourself into a pretzel to explain it.

Actually, they're talking about dumping Graham and his big cap hit in Chicago atm...stay tuned.

That made things more difficult for the tight end, not easier.

Pat Freiermuth's impact will correlate to how often Canada can use him and Ebron in tandem. That is without a doubt a universal truth. However, what is also not discussed is Ebrons health. Should he go down, mostly smooth sailing for Pat; bon voyage for Eric post 2021.

I'd use him all day..... as a decoy for PF on the other end of the line. At least until teams caught on then let Ebron run uncovered then hit him a few times.
