Barber had 3 all-pro season in his career...Every one was under Tomlin as DB coach with Tampa Bay(he was their DB coach from 2001 to 2005)

Here is the only problem I have with his former players saying stuff like this whether it's Barber or Lynch where is this hands on stamp when he is HC. The Harrison SB play aside there are areas where you should see them like defensive backs but there is just isn't. Could just be because being the boss doesn't give you a lot of one on one with players.

Those quotes about each other and about Minkah are amazing.

But i keep reading on this website that Tomlin is overrated. A HOFamer just gave Tomlin credit for making him a hall of fame player. And then Tomlin broke down how he coached Barber and what allowed that combo of coach and player to be special. Wow.

Tomlin isn’t just overrated he is vastly overrated.

Really good dude though stand up citizen nobody is questioning that.

Who gives a crap what Tomlin did with Ronde Barber a quarter century ago? Win some damn playoff games.

Not sure I'd say "vastly overrated". I'm in the middle with Tomlin but I guarantee you if he decided he wanted to keep Coaching, but not in Pittsburgh, any of the other 31 teams would jump at the chance to have him if they needed a HC.

Could you imagine if he went elsewhere and we had to play his new team in the SB?? This board may explode;)

He’s not an awful head coach (regular season record proves that) but he has had next to no postseason success here in over a decade (the year they made the AFC Championship vs NE the game was over in the first 10 mins)

it’s time for a new chapter. I don’t think every team would hire him but he wouldn’t have trouble getting a job I agree with you there.

And LeVeon got injured in the first quarter, AB didn't play also, Ben was throwing to Sammie Coates and some other scrubs. I'm not saying they were going to win but they were limited on offense.

It was in 2015 vs Denver that AB did not play(same for Bell in that game)but I agree that it was a limited offense vs pats with Bell out after the first drive...I was more angry about the defense in this game

Bell was injured in the beginning of the game....so quickly that some reports where that the Steelers didn't give proper notice of His injury. If I'm remembering correctly.

Yes, I remember, it was just to say that AB had played against the pats but the offense was so limited with some skill position were out of the nfl very soon after that

AB didn’t play vs the Pats? I knew Bell was hurt early.

That’s exactly it. Practices are largely conducted by position group coaches. The HC oversees everything, but for obvious reasons can’t give detailed instruction to 90 different people.

IIRC AB had some lower leg or foot injury and didn't play.

Wow. But yeah that doesn’t mean anything because this Board knows a lot more about football than Mike T.

Add to that: half the defense was recovering from food poisoning in the week, and Bellichick took a gamble by going 4 wide hurry up offense (which he hadn’t done all season) which took advantage of groggy LBers and neutralised the pass rush.

A different day and it would have for Brady killed. As it was, he passed all over us.

Every terrible NFL head coach ever knows more about football than this board. So what?
