Now I totally blame the Falcons for blowing this game with a terrible interception, but....

Come on how do you miss the blatant grab and hold, but get the fact that the RB for the Falcons had a toe out of bounds to stop the clock on the previous series?

This guy gets way too much credit for his blatant no calls...

My buddy lives in seahawks country and he hates them badly. He's a Packers fan. I sent him a message when that play happened and told him this exact thing. I mean that was incredibly blatant.

This seems to be more so of an indirect and direct phenomenon known as the Illusion of external agency; an bias based on attributes that consist of illusions of influence, insight and benevolence. Such a phenomenon can be better explained below.

The insight is that Sherman knows the rule as do the officials. However.. it is where we get into the influence becomes the most troubling. Richard's abrasive ego and confident attitude allows him to have wiggle room within the rulebook. As a result, the benevolence is that he does not get flagged.

The short of this? Richard has effectively allowed his confidence and abrasiveness as the "status quo" corner has given him near free reign as to how he can play. As a result, such events like the one we saw against Julio will be more of the same unless the NFL itself cleanse it's mind of the external forces these players eminate; words, actions or otherwise.

The refs stink in general but that was particularly egregious.

    One ref can't watch everything.
I'm guessing that the ref is taught to watch the body and where the ball will be caught.
There have been a lot of games where Sherman and others have gotten away with holding back the off-arm before the ball arrives, making it impossible to catch the ball with two hands. (But one arm and the body aren't interfered with.)

There needs to be a 2nd pair of eyes dedicated to watching what else is happening away from the catch point.

My issue is they have meetings and watch tape before the games to know what to look for. They know he's going to grab like this every game. Throw the flags! I don't care hgow many times you throw it. Eventually he'll have to stop as it will be killing his team!
