I agree with this. I think our floor is 9-6-1 and our ceiling is 11-4-1. The thing is, as long as we beat Bal and Cin, even 9-6-1 is most likely going to win us the division. I dont see us earning a bye week this year. So I think we are looking at no worse than a 3 or a 4 seed. I will take that seeing how bad the season started.

That was the point of my post.

He detailed each game, then got to the Pats and just had an "L"

We will make the playoffs and win the division. I'm sticking with my preseason pick to win the AFC in houston.

Chiefs and Patriots have winning rosters that Texans and Steelers can't compete with. AFC Championship will be Chiefs and Patriots. Let us hope this game occurs at Arrowhead instead of Gillette/Foxboro.

I'm hoping too. I think ne loses this Sunday to GB and that gives the chiefs a cushion to lose maybe won more game but idk if they will they are that explosive. I like Houston I think they have the best defense in the AFC out of any of the playoff contenders and Watson needed some time to get his legs under him. Plus they have a very easy remaining schedule. I'm sticking with him.

Texans will have to generate more offense to hang with Chiefs and Patriots. With Demaryius Thomas at WR with Hopkins... it may put them over the top. We'll see. Texans have a better chance than the Steelers vs. Chiefs/Patriots because of their D.

I think we have no chance. Our defense is just too bad and then our offense while good is not on the level of teams like the chiefs, rams, saints, or pats..

So, when it suits your argument, previous seasons matter. When it doesn't suit your argument, they no longer matter.

The Chiefs have a long history of fading after fast starts. After all that talk about what previous teams do, now you want to dismiss that logic.

The Steelers basically failed to show up for the first quarter and lost to the Chiefs by one score. I certainly don't think Pittsburgh would be favored, but to say the Steelers can't compete simply is not accurate.

Yes it is accurate. I've watched Saints, Rams, Chiefs and Patriots play. Steelers are nowhere near that level. Steelers play two of those teams soon. We'll see... but if I were betting... Steelers will go 0-2 vs. Patriots and Saints.

If republicans can cite and cherry-pick the constitution when it suits them, I can use or not use previous teams to support my logic. Neener neener neener.... NEEEE Ner!

You included the Chiefs in that conversation. On a day when pretty much everything went wrong, the Steelers played them within one score. That is competing. Once again, your post was inaccurate.

Perhaps if you tried to be consistent in your arguments you might be more effective.

Why be consistent? The Steelers sure as hell are not consistent. I just go by the "eye-test"... and what I see is 4 teams that are Super Bowl caliber and 28 teams that are not. Steelers are one of those 28 teams.

Your eye clearly cannot be trusted. You may turn out to be correct, but in general I've seen plenty of what you post and I am not impressed.

You clearly don't mind contradicting yourself. That's not good.

I take that back. The Steelers are consistent with losing to inferior teams under Tomlin, stagnant lethargic offense in the 1st quarter.... and playing crappy porous defense vs. pass and run.

you absolutely have no idea what you're talking about, KC is TERRIBLE on defense far worse than the Steelers. The Chiefs give up 433 yards per game and 25.6 points per game compared to 359 and 24.6 by the Steelers.

You do realize this is a message board for people who actually like the Steelers, right?

I do like the Steelers, but I'm not delusional. There's too many flaws with this team to compete with the top 2 teams in the AFC. Steelers are still 1-2 years/drafts/FA period out.. and 2 or 3 upgrades on defense to realistically make a run for the Super Bowl.

True but believe it or not our defense might be better than chiefs and pats.... so maybe that will even things out.......... The chiefs defense is horrible. Our defense is getting better every week and if haden is healthy it is not bad.

No doubt in my mind this is not a team to win a Super Bowl but I can see the AFC North being won with 9 wins. That being said I'm not sure which of the 3 teams will win it. Forget Cleveland.

We cant judge this chiefs regime based on past. This guy mahomes is on another level and is doing things no one in nfl history has ever done. Also the chiefs next if time will be playing at home if we so happen to make it there.

If we play the chiefs again both berry and Houston will be back and their defense as of late has played somewhat better. I think we can beat ne this year I'm not sold on them but I dont see us getting past kc.

That is the same thing we say on the Pirate message board. We love the Bucs but know we can't compete with pretty much the other 29 teams in MLB.

Don’t sleep on the Texans. If they stay healthy they can give anyone trouble. They’re heating up.

Jags had their shot in the AFCC last year. I know you are discussing divisional, but still. I was just discussing this with a Patriots fan at lunch today. What the Patriots do well is handle business during the season to ensure the road to the SB goes through Foxborough.

I really thought Gruden would do well, but the guy is having a terrible year. Obviously Kalil Mack absolutely destroying offenses with the Bears doesn't make that trade look good. There are many others, but I can't complain too much as the Steelers were the beneficiary of a poor trade by them (IMO) with getting a 3rd round pick for Martavis Bryant.

Ravens - always a tough match. The Ravens by far have been the greatest threat in the division followed by the Bengals and then of course last of last of all leagues of all time the browns.

Jags - A tough match, but they are dealing with some major issues. They still have a solid defense, albeit not playing as well as they did last year. BETTER NOT OVERLOOK THEM this year.

Broncos - tough call here. Excited to see this game. They have some great playmakers. Really a toss up to how the Steelers can handle the pass rush IMO.

Saints - agree. Brees is established IMO as a hall of famer, even though he has not won a super bowl. No one can deny he's one of the best QBs, and he has a lot of weapons. Will be tough. Ben needs a good game.

Bengals - we are their daddy, but don't overlook them. Got to bring the heat and watch out for Burfict closelining your ass.

I think the 9-6-1 is most realistic this year.

Probably get knocked off early in the playoffs.

I hope I'm wrong, but with this defense I have some concerns.. as many do.
