that Chargers game is all time #1 for me, too. The Jags game was #2, and getting Tebow'd was #3.

Losing to the Pats, in 2001 AFCCG was somewhere in top list also......that was just deplorable. I was DONE with Cowher then.......

Yeah. Questioning his sexuality is a low blow. I enjoyed watching him play. He just didn't have the ability to be a franchise QB. I remember his dad calling Pittsburgh a hell hole.

    Exactly!

The guilty party usually runs to the streets to state their case. He has created a self-fulfilling prophecy by doing it to himself.

The guy gets up each day and puts on a kick me sign and wonders why people kick him

I’m thinking he’s on some form of reverse 12 step program

I’ll agree with your version, but something else seemed a difference to me. I feel like The Steelers were mentally beat from the start or they just didn’t have the eye of the tiger like in other games. They might have have shot their load in the AFCC game against the Ravens where they were getting beat down for the first 30 minutes and roared back in the 2nd half. Didn’t know it then, but a typical Tomlin game where the standard is the standard for 30 of the 60 minutes.

Maybe the success of the 2005 and 2008 wins made them less hungry, but they were flat. All the parts were there to win that game.

Dude, I’m still smarting over that loss to Jaxonville. That was the year that we had it all. ANOTHER 30 minute performance!

For me will always be XXX, the chance to beat Dallas three times and we dominated every statistical category in that game except the score. Shut down Emmit to some lowly pathetic yards and big mouth Ervin as well. Neil just read the hot read wrong and it cost us!! Lloyd was shut down in that game but Green played well and Rod even on a bum leg played well. Still pisses me off right now!!

I hear all of that, but I have them in a different order.

1 - Loss to the Jags in 2017 - That team was our best shot and it all fell of a cliff after that.

2 - Getting spygated in 2001 by the Cheatriots - We were the best team in football that year.

    3 - The Chargers

4 - Nobody talks about the 2016 loss to the Peyton Manning Broncos

5 - Utter embarrassing loss to Tebow

The only luck the Steelers had in that game was all the drops by the Packers, but those count. They weren't outclassed. They were certainly underdogs because Rodgers was playing at an otherworldly level, but they had momentum and a chance to take the lead until that fumble. Mendenhall certainly isn't solely to blame for the loss, but that was a killer mistake. The worst part of it is the way he throws his teammates under the bus for it, blaming the blocker who didn't handle Matthews instead of himself.

The steelers were depleted on offense vs broncos in 2015.They were with their 3rd RB and AB was out.The steelers still gave a great effort in this game

Oh for sure, it was a big turning point. I just remember thinking at the time that if GB didn't have the drops they did, we would have gotten blown out. I haven't watched that game again since, so perhaps my memory is off. That's just how I remember it.

They had a killer fumble cost them in 2016, too. They lost their top two running backs and ended up relying on scrubs. They had a one-point lead and the ball in Denver territory when Toussaint put the ball on the ground. Having to play that game without Bell and Brown was just a killer.

I haven't watched it since then, either, but that is also how I remember it. That said, they did have those drops. Avoiding unforced errors is part of the game.

Maybe not the worst or most embarrassing, since Ben was a rookie and the Pats had perhaps their best team of their dynasty but I was still very sad after the 2004 AFC title game

For 2001, it was very frustrating, the Steelers had major problems all year long with their special team and it haunted the Steelers big time in this game by giving 2 special team TDs to the pats and of course Kordell had been terrible in this game and he never recovered from this loss after that

Still would’ve won if the ref called Manning down when he gave himself up

    Don't fumble.

Jason Worilds abruptly left the steelers and retired too. And no one is bashing him....

I actually think more about the fumble He had while running down the sidelines, and nobody touched Him in the regular season. LoL
