Game 2 and then Cam Heyward states that he's really not comfortable with a rookie starting.

BTW-Welcome and green font means sarcasm on these boards. Some may get my comment and some may not.

    He looked smooth in OTA.
But that needs to translate when the pads are on.
And he will have to show well in Preseason.

I've heard a few talking heads predict week 6.
What I don't want is him starting due to Mitch playing so poorly - 'stinking up the joint.'
I would want to see Mitch playing well, but Pickett just out playing him.

It would truly be sarcasm if Kendrick Green says he’s not comfortable with a rookie starting

Tomlin said Pickett is very raw which I found interesting since one of the biggest reasons he was drafted first was because of his readiness.

All signs pointing to Mitch playing the whole year as the starter. Assuming he plays well. If they are winning and his play is above the line, Kenny won’t play this year.

I think the phrase with Pickett is not that he was ready but rather he was the “most” NFL ready

If you are the tallest guy at a midget convention you are still short

If Kenny Pickett is playing this year we are well into Tomlins first losing season. He isn’t close to NFL ready I watched him for 5 years at Pitt. Best case scenario is he’s a decent backup for the Steelers for a couple years and is an average starter after that.

I think he's more NFL ready than some people think. He's used to having pass rushers in his face. He may not produce much this year though(if he plays).

I am cautiously optimistic about Trubisky now that he isn't in the Nagy mess. The tools are there if his head is OK.

NFL Network keeps running the January 5th 2003 Wildcard round Steelers victory over the Browns. What a game! Arians....o coordinator for Browns. Northcutt drop sealed the game. If we can get Maddox like performance from Trubisky...it will be good for '22.

Maddox wasn't afraid 2 go down the field. You guys do know Trubiskys air yards average per completion for His career is as low as Ben's last ,and worst year.

    Let's poop on Trubisky.

Let's see how he does outside the Bears...where QBs go to die.

If Ben was so great...then why didn't we win a Superbowl from 2014-2018? If Aaron Rodgers is so great then why hasn't he won a Superbowl since 2011?

    Fixed it for you.

Best case scenario is he has the Steelers competing for Lombardis over the next 10-12 years and maybe manages to win one or two. And how in the world can you watch Pickett’s senior season and say he isn’t close to NFL ready? I get that he didn’t set the world on fire his first four years, but he figured it out last year. His college career has followed a similar track as Joe Burrow’s. You seem to be a little biased against Pickett for some reason. Time will tell whether or not he develops into the franchise quarterback the Steelers need, but you seem to be writing him off before he’s ever taken an NFL snap. Give the guy a chance.

    Nobody is pooping on Nobody.
    I'm just sharing facts.
People can't say....Well now the Steelers can go down the field.....when in reality the Qb (Trubisky) has never really went down field.
It would be like bringing in Alex Smith after he went 2 KC, and saying....Well at least now they will go down the field.
Now it maybe different for Him now(I hope), but it has never been part of His game.

I think Tomlin's "really raw" comment is coach speak.
He is just remembering where the men's room is. It's a bit like that first day of 5th grade when you collected an arm load of books and fining each classroom.
Now it is a matter of how fast and how well he develops each day.

In the meantime, Mitch looks like a starter and Mason looks like a backup.
I did notice on the penciled depth chart, Kenny is #2. So, they liked something.

All this is great for me. I like having QB's battle for the spot.
In fact, every starter should have someone behind them that they must look over their shoulder at.

His biggest weakness besides what is in between his ears would be downfield passing. Scrambling bootlegs and dump offs he is actually decent at. Problem is the same way the D would crowd Ben the last couple seasons and dare him to throw deep middle is the same thing they can do vs Mitch.

From everything I've seen from Him ......I would have 2 agree.
Although I hope I'm wrong, and will be the first 2 admit it if I am.

If that's the case, move on to Pickett as fast as humanly possible.

you keep making this same failed argument. It’s a team sport. Having one great player on offense or defense doesn’t make you a champion.

What does the last paragraph about Ben and Aaron have to do with Trubisky / Maddox, or the Bears?
