I know New York is going through hell right now, but, 3 tickets to from Buffalo to LaGuardia $400.00, 5 nights motel $400, 3 tickets to the game $800.00 and I am now watching the game from my couch, in Niagara Falls Ontario. Why the hell didn't Goodell cancel the game. New York is in CRISIS!!!!! Bleeding BLACK N GOLD today!!!!!!!!! Was lucky enough to transfer flight with a penalty, of $115.00 can't get ticket money back. I know it is not our house we lost but we have been waiting since April when we purchased tickets for this vacation. My heart goes out to the people of NY City, but I just wanted to see my STEELERS play an away game. God Bless New York .......................Go to HELL goodell :flag:

    Couldn't you drive?

Did the hotel offer some form of compensation?

Too worried to dry fear of no gas along the way, not sure of weather on the way, and HOTEL was gonna charge me a penalty for cancelling!!!!!! So we decided to cut our loses as it stood Enough was enough.

Maybe I missed it, but why didn't you go anyway? NYC is still there, it's not gone, even though some parts of it are a mess. If I had tickets I would still be going to this game.

My neighbor is driving from Pittsburgh. Leaving Saturday morning. Where is you hotel? Are they closed without power? If not, it seems the only thing keeping you from going in you. Everything seems to be gearing back up to normal.

Why don't I go to the game......well my little boy needs heat and food. We were planning our family vacation and planning on seeing New York. I can't go site seeing with all those people not even having a home. Even our friends who live in West Chester county said don't come, they wouldn't be able to take me to see the Twim Tower Memorial, Time Square, Statue of Liberty, you name it I wanted to see it. They are still without power, so it's not like I could have stayed with them. Trust me it was a very hard decision to just forget about the money and stay home for the safety of my family. I am taking a huge loss not going.

Does the hotel you were going to say at have power? If so, then I don't understand the issue. You're not putting your family at any risk. You'll be able to find food. Although your sightseeing will be more limited than it would have been, but you can still go to the game for sure.

You still have plane tickets for a later date so you can do that other stuff then. If your hotel is in Manhattan, then it may be an issue getting over to Jersey. Im guessing at $80/night you're not. So if you are staying in Jersey, you should be cool.

Then there is always StubHub. Surely you can unload those tix for something rather than eating them. You could easily overnight them to the buyer, you still have 2 days if you get on it now.

My hotel was in West Chester County, twenty minutes from Manhatten, they were not closed just no power in the WHOLE county. Again where am I gonna eat for 5 days people. What am I gonna do other then go to the game, how am I supposed to occupy my lttle one????? I tried for another hotel, near the stadium everything was sold out. If you note on the STEELER website, they aren't even leaving until Sunday, because their normal hotel is without power and they didn't want to get another so thaat they would not displace people from the area who had no where else to go, they are flyng in sundy morning and leaving right aftr the game. If anyone wants the tickets by all means let me know they are currently in New York with our friends.

I'd still be going to the game/etc. The site seeing stuff...oh well. Maybe during the rest of the time go volunteer or something. But just because I couldnt site see/etc that wouldnt stop me from going to a game.

This. There will be food, you aren't going to starve the whole time you're there. NYC is still there. I don't know what the situation is with the subways, but I'm sure cabs and buses are going as per normal. You can still go around NYC and do a bit of touristy stuff. If you can find a hotel that has power, then i would definitely be going.

Otherwise, throw those tickets on stubhub and sell them.

Theres got to be places to eat nearby the hotel. If the hotel has power, then surely surrounding businesses do too. You could always pack a cooler as back up.

And even if you don't go, the tix are in NYC and will be EASILY sold, your plane tix are transfered and not a loss, so the only thing you should be out is $400 for the hotel...and thats by your choice.

I understand being apprehensive with a kid, but its not like you are traveling to Fallujah.

As far as Stub Hub goes, you don't even need to overnight. You can enter bar codes and turn them into e-tickets, no mailing necessary.

Or even better...how you said you could change your tickets. Just change the return flight to leave after the game or very first thing the next morning. So you don't have to worry about the electric being out (if it still is by that time) and staying for days.

But if you still chicken out, haha...then definitely put them on StubHub or TicketExchange or something and get that money back!

When did the zombie apocalypse hit New York? You have a 7 hour drive. The shortest route goes through Scranton Pa. I live there. Plenty of gas and no lines. Take your family to the game. Do your sight-seeing another time.

Whatever man, I don't know these places, I don't even live in the same country.

All I'm saying is your posts were a little ridiculous. Yeah, the OP is being a bit dramatic about this whole thing and he should still go to the game, but there's ways of saying that.

It was indeed...flaming's not condoned here. Furthermore, the OP didn't say he was from Westchester county. What difference does it make if he said it wrong?
