Winner. The vibe I am getting on some of the push back to Beck is more personal and so they are dinging his ability to play QB. Dude can play.

Ok. But evaluate those as if last year was Beck's rookie year in the NFL. How does he come out then? Beck has basically been playing as a professional for over a season. How does he stack up against similar NFL players?

He was 22 last year and got 4 million dollars to play for Miami, so he went out and bought a Lamborghini and is dating a bunch of hot girls. Oh my the horror of it all. I'm almost 72 and if someone gave me 4 million dollars I might do the same, lol.

I think Beck said he was taking graduate courses at Miami.

Talking about Jack Lambert in any discussions on Carson Beck being the draft pick of the Steelers is ridiculous. He's not Bruce Lee or Chuck Norris. He's a football player that you make up stories about like he's a superhero. Here's a clue. He isn't.

This isn't about Ben. Drop it or the discussion is over.

I'm not upset that Beck didn't shake hands. I'm saying that I think it is one of many signs that he may not be the best draft pick for the team because of his attitude and leadership deficiencies. I don't like the way he conducts himself, and he's not talented enough to put up with any of that crap.

If you like Carson Beck as a quarterback, why don't you list the things you like about him? You haven't done that yet.

Bennett didn't have the size or the arm like Beck has.

Your asking me to do something that is impossible as far as evaluating Beck in the "professional football" sense. The NFL and the NCAA are worlds apart. This goes doubly so for how the QB Position is played.

Becks traits and tools do translate to the NFL. It is a matter of him getting with not just the right coach but also the right organization as a whole. Same goes with just about every QB ever sans a few; Joe Burrow being the major exception.

No body can do that and it’s why prospects even with elite traits fail at the pro level. Thats just not something you will ever know until they are out there.

All I know is that lots I hear about Beck is how he needs this that and the other thing to succeed. He needs the right situation. And so on.

He is a professional football player. He is not a college student. If he needed all these things to be right for him to experience success in college....how does that work when it is the pros and he doesn't have those things?

Beck has some talent. My problem with him is how he handles himself which doesn't really show any leadership. It's when you put together the things he has said and done over a period of time. He says some really stupid things for a guy that has had six years to figure out the mostly softball questions he got as a college quarterback. He can't even get that right.

He comes up small in big moments. Always has. If someone doesn't know that about him, then I guess they may think it's personal. He falls apart under pressure, and he has been doing it for six years in college.

Every loss by Miami this season ended on an interception by Beck. In losses to SMU, Louisville, and Indiana, every game was decided on a Beck interception at the end of the game.

The Hurricanes lost to Louisville earlier in the season with Beck throwing four interceptions. Instead of standing in front of microphones and saying it was his bad and taking responsibility for the loss, he elected to throw a receiver under the bus on the game-sealing interception saying he ran the wrong route. As if that receiver caused his other three interceptions as well. It almost cost them a chance at the college football playoff, but they did get in. Watch the play. The defensive player reacted to Beck and made a great play on the ball. It doesn't matter that the receiver may have made a mistake. Beck threw it where the defender could catch the ball....and he did.

In the championship game, he completed just over 50% of his passes and underthrew a receiver by 10 yards for the game-sealing interception. Then walks off the field without congratulating his opponent. He doesn't get any credit for someone having to talk to him and tell him to try to be gracious in later interviews. He only had one chance to get it right and be respectful. He didn't do it. Did you see how Beck acts when he is on the winning side at the end of games? Maybe you should watch him. He has no problem celebrating.

He came back to college to make $4.3 million. Good for him. I don't blame him one bit for that, but that isn't a feather in his cap. The guy has been playing college football forever. He wasn't good enough last season to be drafted high enough by his estimation, so he took the guaranteed NIL money because he wasn't sure he was good enough to make it as an NFL quarterback.

Neither am I. There is talent, but there is a bunch of mental makeup stuff that bothers me about him and that he will need to overcome. Failing at the end of games in game-deciding moments has been an issue for him. Some players can never get over that hump.

This is real minor stuff character wise. Already gave my thoughts about saying a receiver ran the wrong route, doesnt bother me at all. Run your damn route.

In my breakdown I said the turnovers are a problem, needs to get that under control.

If we are waiting for prospects without flaws in their game it’s going to be a long wait. As I said, he fits MMs offense like a glove and supposedly MM is good at developing QBs so hopefully he can iron out some of Becks. Clearly he has the Steelers attention as they met with him twice now.

As for the character stuff, I looked past Ben’s, I can handle what little character issues Beck has.

Me going with them is not the problem
