Predicting the next 10 years

Most of us complain about 3 playoff wins in the last 10 years (2 against backup QBs). Assuming we are stuck with Tomlin for the next 10 (I can’t believe I just typed that). How many playoff wins will the Steelers have. My guess is zero (I am leading the prediction pool so my vote counts double). Curious what the rest of you think. This is also assuming Ben leaves after this season. I should have added assuming we are stuck with Tomlin the next 10 years. I think the only thing we all agree on is that Tomlin is here 10 years even if he goes 0-17 every year for a decade

 

Tomlin will not be here 10 years from now. 5 years tops and even that's a stretch.

There's no telling how many playoff wins the team will have. Nobody knows who the next QB will be and that is the biggest piece of the puzzle. It's almost like making Surf and Turf with Spam and Sardines.

 

I wouldn't be so sure about him not being here ten years unless Tomlin himself has had enough. Cowher would likely still be here if he didn't choose to leave when he did.

 

I really think Tomlin is going to resign in the near future, if not immediate future. Probably depends on if Ben comes back for one last hoorah. I don't think Tomlin heads to any other team per-say. I get a sense that he, himself, needs a break, much like Cowher.

As for the next ten years. I'll go with an over/under of 5 playoff wins. I have no scientific data to support that over/under. It's relatively unknown what the Steelers look like in 2024 let alone 2030. Could be just as easily be SB champs as we are 0-16.

 

What You don't say is You have been knocked out of the predicted game a while ago. 5 wins I believe You predicted.
So as for counting double I think Your predictions should be counted as one half. LoL

You never know what is going to happen.

Let me tell you a long story. I was 19 years old summer of 2004 and starting my freshmen year at IUP, it was August and Freshmen had to start a week earlier than everyone else. I was eating at the orientation lunch with my buddy. I lost my mom a year earlier and my Dad dropped me off and he is no case a helicopter parent, he gave me a hug and said don't screw up and he didn't stay for lunch (LOL) Well anyway at this orientation lunch at the dining hall. There was a set of parents eating there with their daughter.

I noticed the Dad as Jerry Dipaola who at the time was a Sports writer for the Trib Review and he did a lot of stuff on Fox Sports Pittsburgh (Formerly Root sports now AT and T Pittsburgh) Jerry still does some sports stuff. But, I recognized him and talked to him, and said how do you think the Steelers will do this year. He said don't expect much out of the Steelers this year. Maddox isn't that great, and the Rookie QB (Big Ben) isn't going to play until next year. He told me it may be a while to the Steelers get back to the Super Bowl contender status. (Remember Steelers went 6-10 in 2003)

Big Ben came in by the 3rd week Steelers went 15-1 and where a game away from going to the Super Bowl that year.

They won Super Bowl XL the following year.

Just goes to show you, you never know. It could be 10 years or it could be 1-2 years it can turn around that fast.

It will just be dependent if we find a guy who can make us compete at QB, or if we are gonna be stuck with a Jambroni.

The fact we keep playing teams missing so many stars is what is messing with my prediction. That’s why I am doing better on the weekly prediction (the injury reports and weather are known when I make the pick

Here is another prediction the chiefs will win. The Ravens will win if they play Huntley at QB (Steelers win if Lamar plays).

Predicting anything is the NFL is a fools game, too many variables with the draft, injuries, free agency etc etc

A lot will depend on the QB position.

 

But I am the best at it with 51 points

 

You just laid out in a previous post why are you think you’re better at the weekly predict the score then you are a predicting the whole season. So how are you going to predict 10 years when you could even get one you’re right.
