Predicting Kenny Pickett's career trajectory

Yes, I know he's only played 3.5 games. But just for fun, let's predict Kenny's career trajectory based on what we know so far:

I personally see him as another Andy Dalton. Definitely good enough to win a playoff game or two provided he is surrounded with a good supporting cast, but never quite elite or great enough to win a Super Bowl.

 

I somewhat agree with you. But, remember when Trent Dilfer won a superbowl? Also Rex Grossman leading his team to one?? It's not all about the QB.

 

With this logic.... I'll play. Ben couldn't lead his team to a Super Bowl from 2011-2021. Ben ('11-'21) = Andy Dalton

Who knows how Pickett will end up? There's too many variables to make an accurate prediction. Right now, the Steelers overall team is not very good. Burrow looked even worse than Pickett during the games he played his rookie year... and he turned out OK. Bengals have a good roster... and that helps any QB.

Different Era of football. You can't play defense anymore like the 2000 Ravens or even how that bears team did.

 

Burrow did not look bad as a rookie. Also you're comparing Pickett to a guy in burrow who dominated college football(albeit on a very stacked team) like we've arguably never seen, in the toughest conference in college football, also in the college football playoff. That wasn't kenny Pickett.

I just don't get how You can predict a Qbs play by not even a half of a season in a Qbs rookie year.
If this was 2,and a half seasons....maybe I could get on board, but not now....,and if Your going off of just arm strength, and speed.....Well Cam Newton, M. Vick, ,and K. Boller would win all the SBs( they have none), and Brady, Manning, Brees, and Montana would win none.

Yea I know but in all honestly it's mostly nit picking. It's like you expect him to put up Joe Burrow's current numbers on a garbage team with terrible coaching. It's simply going to take time to see what we really have with him. We could all just run him out of town though like we are doing with Claypool. That would be extra constructive.

I think his ceiling is someone like Taylor Heinicke. A great backup who can win some games, but if he’s your starter for the entire season you likely won’t make or go far in the playoffs.

Last two years everyone was going to throw Tagliavolo and Daniel Jones into the dumpster. Last year, except for week 17, Trevor Lawrence was one of the worst qbs in the NFL. Last year Mac Jones was the second coming of Tom Brady.
