I guess if I had to really sum up this game it would be wasted oppourtunities. When Ben missed Heath in the 1st quarter that was a killer. Then when we kept the ball in the 3rd and only got 3 points out of it that was a backbreaker. The only positive I see is that Ben was converting on 3rd down and we are gonna need that desperately with our defense so useless. So that's my thought. What about you guys?

    1. Nothing on offense is smoothe. I do think there is a better scheme with Haley, but this offensive line is downright dreadful.
    2. Defense cant get pressure on the QB. Will that help when Harrison returns? Who knows.
    3. I am not sure LeBeau's blitzes fool anyone anymore.
    4. I hope Polamalu's disappearing act is due to Ryan Clark being gone.
    5. Tired of the dumb penalties.
    6. Tired of Tomlin's poor challenge management.

I do think Troy will be better with Clark. I also think that Tomlin is just a sorry clock manager in general. I really didn't even notice us trying to blitz at all. Seemed like Manning was just standing back there all alone. Man we need a corner or 3 soooo bad!!!

The offensive wasn't too bad if you consider we chewed up alot of the clock and still put points on the board. The killer is that we chewed up 9 minutes of clock and only scored 3 points, then the defense gave up a TD in only 36 seconds. Not a good formula for winning.

Not ahving Clark and Harrison did hurt though.

Offense will get smoother with practice.

The D has issues , and I'm not even sure what they are.

There's no fire. We have no burning determination on D.

Furthermore the other team's WR's know where to be against us considering we haven't changed a damn thing in years.

We need a guy to get up in some faces and tell them how much they suck. We don't have that guy. We need that guy on offense and the only person who maybe can do it is Haley.

Well considering we may have won the game if there was no INT, the offense did a fairly decent job.

What of the run game? There wasn't any for our side.

Not sure I get this. They had how many spring sessions? They had what, 50 days in preseason to "practice"....ohh, I guess they didn't really practice to much. Maybe they were to busy signing autographs or patting themselves on the back at how many fans come and watch them run around and pretend to do something.

This is old. I am already tired of the, just wait until they learn the offense crap. Let's see, Manning doesn't play for a whole year, goes into Denver and he learned the offense pretty well, right? Or are we saying we just have a bunch of idiots that require 4 or 5 years to really get the system.

This stuff happens every year around the league and yet the Steelers and their fans are the only ones that constantly bring up the, wait till we learn the offense notion.

It is football, not planning a mission to Mars. They have had plenty of time to pick things up and get it together. The problem is that we see the real difference. Manning is the great QB while Ben languishes as average. Not with standing his two rings, but everyone realizes that if Manning had been playing for the Steelers over the last 10 years, we'd have at least 6 or 7 rings.

You'll figure it out. It's a play on a much used acronym from the last season or 3.

OH! I think I get it... Would it have something to do with a certain coordinator?

This pretty much sums it up for me as well. I'd add:

-The offensive line is simply snakebitten. 2 more starters lost to injury in the first half?? For once, I'd like to see the 5 guys who start the game actually finish the game.
-Good to see that Colon is on pace for his 2 false starts per game, even at a new position.
-Seeing Tracy Porter tonight makes me long for a game changing, play making CB.
-Ike's tackling seems to have regressed...he simply ducks his head and throws himself at the legs every time now, and this hasn't been enough to get his opponents on the ground lately.
-With as much money as Woodley and Timmons are making, I want to see more. They are being paid like stars, they should perform like them.
-The 2005 playoff game vs. Manning where the D confused and battered Manning seems like a generation ago, doesn't it? Where did that QB pressuring defense go?

This being said, I believe the Steelers (esp. the D) bounces back in a big way next week.

    12to88, I agree with you 100%:
    1. The O-line is hopeless. They are so fragile, away hurt, so they are useless. Gilbert and Foster both Tapped out early.
    2. Getting pressure is and after thought. That was one of the things I said they had to do to win the game was to sack Mannning and put some serious pressure on him. Woodley did nothing and IMHO, Harrison will not make a difference.
    3. The blitze scheme is old news. Every team knows what they are going to do. It doesn't work any more.
    4. Ryan Munday is so bad that he takes Polamalu right out of the the game.
    5. The enalties are unexceptable
    6. They are lost on challenges, they have no clue. Somebody please tell me who is telling Tomlin to make these dumb mistakes?

There was a play where Timmons "pursued" Manning and PEYTON MANNING RAN FOR A 1ST DOWN!!! Read that last part again! I told my wife that it looked like Casey Hampton was pursuing him! Timmons is overrated to me and he always has been. I know he has his supporters and that's fine. But for me he's just not all that. I want a guy with a killer instinct when it comes to the qb. I think we've lost our mystique. There was a time when a qb with a neck problem would've never wanted to face us. Now we just look like your average, run of the mill, faceless NFL defense. So sad.
