Nope , not at all. Players have to play and punters have to punt. What idiot would think a different coach would have secured a different outcome? Idk, maybe if the refs would call the intentional grounding properly and we were now looking to defend a 4th and 20, the game ends up differently. Dumba$$

The Steelers only got one sack on Winston who isn't a real mobile QB, Austin called a good blitz only once when Queen hit Winston.

I said that before the season and got flamed for it. Still holds true just like I figured. They've been giving up too many 3rd and longs for years now, that's just who they are.

So did Tomlin tell the punter to shank the ball? Did Tomlin tell Wilson to fumble the ball? Is it Tomlin’s fault that NFL refs do not know that if a QB throws the ball from in the pocket short of the pins of scrimmage with no receiver with in 30 yards to avoid a sack and it hits a lineman, it is grounding and a 20 yard loss? Snap out of dude, learn the game and understand a losing game isn’t automatically the fault of the coach. You should be a Cleveland fan so you could cheer them firing a coach every two years.

This defense needs Highsmith just as much as it needs Watt. That's just reality these days.

They really weren't getting much pressure on Winston all day. It's like they have some kind of phobia of blitzing

I thought Herbig was going to have a much bigger impact in this game.

    .

He made the one big play, but you're right. He was going against a 3rd string tackle. There were far too many times when Winston had all day to throw

The Browns were 1/10 on 3rd downs, 4/4 on 4th downs.

Nobody is putting it all on Tomlin, but I think you would agree that it wasn't his finest day

Watt, Heyward, and Minkah the three highest paid players on defense were all no shows, tough to win when this happens.

At Heyward's age,I don't think he has the stamina for short turnarounds.

What exactly did he do wrong? What would you have done differently?

Well we kicked a 57 yard FG in bad weather, we went for it multiple times on 4th down... once in our own territory. He wasted a timeout on defense with less than 2 minutes left. He didn't coach the team to let Chubb score on the last drive to save another 40 seconds.... If we had an extra 40 seconds and an additional time out, we would have had a better chance on our last drive. Not a guaranteed win, but Tomlin blew a ton of decisions this game that could have impacted the game. Tomlin has coached a pretty good season this year, but he blundered hard today.

Fair enough I didn't think of that, at least they get some extra time off before the next game.

Its possible, but not likely. We will win somewhere where everyone doesn't expect it. KC or Philly. We will find a way to win a game like that and lose to a 2 win Browns team lol seen it a million times.

All of those happened BEFORE he literally pissed the game away with stupid decisions.

No excuses. The team was flat and played poorly for large portions of the game. In a total team loss, yes, even the Head Coach shares blame.

But go ahead. Chug your copium.

Let chub score? If they could have held it to a FG that would have changed a lot. The Boz has been lights out and most coaches would have tried. As for the 4th down calls, if we are going to make a run this year we have to get a fuc!in yard if needed. Part of playing the season is to challenge the players to perform and tell them to do their job. Dan Campbell went for it last year and many say he cost them a SB appearance. If you look at this year, it seems he has created a mindset in Detroit and it’s working. If you can’t get me a yard, you’re not going to get me a Super Bowl.

You stop trying to run right up the middle on short yardage downs when it's clear you absolutely cannot do it.

You don't throw a bomb on 3rd and short when you need the clock to run.

You don't give a team TWO chances by accepting a penalty when their scoring may be inevitable anyway. Better to force them to kick a FG (or hope to stop them on 4th down).

You definitely DO NOT waste a friggin time out when the clock is already stopped on a 3rd down that should have been 4th down.

You LET THEM SCORE once it's clear they're inside the 5 and running clock.

You tell the offense get out of bounds, or spike the ball. NOT waste 20 damned seconds setting up a 2nd and 1 play.

It's a damned trope by now: Tomlin wasting time outs.

    You don’t fly on 9/11/2001
You don’t sail on the Titanic
    You don’t fly on a 737max
    You don’t launch the Challenger
    Bla bla bla.

I’ve never understood why the geniuses on here are not coaching an NFL team? So many know so much more than the accomplished coaches in the league.

Oh stop it with that BS. This isn't "hindsight is 20/20." This is basic football strategy. BASIC. Like, Pop Warner level stuff.

    You don't eat raw chicken.

You don't speed at night with your headlights off.

You don't jump out of a plane without a parachute.

Well let’s hope the Chargers beat the ravens. This could be a very costly loss come the end of the season.
