Why would we even want to make the playoffs with this team? Just to watch Ben crap the bed again and people complain that tomlin didn’t have them prepared?

do you honestly think this is a playoff caliber team?

not if this, this, and this happen. Do you think this team is a playoff caliber team?

If they make the playoffs they are. That’s a simple fact by definition.

But I would not expect them to do well.

As a Steeler fan I would enjoy watching the game. I enjoy watching Steeler football. Aside from you, the rest of us would like to watch the game.

Henry is injured. The most optimistic reports have him returning to the field Week 18.

Chiefs will destroy the Steelers on December 26th. That game will be over by the 2nd quarter.

If they really do have the offense figured out, this is probably true. Kansas City had already been playing better defensively, with some help from the Steelers. (****ing Ingram)

I think the Steelers have a decent shot at winning the other games, but I can't see them winning at Kansas City. Of course, injuries will play a role. Hopefully, they can at least get Watt and Haden back for those games. It would also help to get Dotson back on the offensive line.

Why would they want Dotson back? Leglue is better after all.

the point is a large portion of the members here will ***** and moan about whatever reason they can dream up and blame the coach. Happens after every single loss no matter what happened on the field. Ben throws 3 interceptions against the browns it’s Tomlin’s fault. Ben throws two interceptions in the super bowl and yet once again it’s Tomlin’s fault.

Let the NFL cancel out all wild card games and just play the divisions finals.

    KC and New England

People on this board are just dumb with flaccid anger issues.

Steelers are the team to beat wake up!

We're not a contender, that's for sure. Is it possible we get into the playoffs and win a game? Sure. Is it possible we play good, consistent football and make a deep playoff run? No, not with this team. We can't even play 60 minutes, let alone do that for several weeks in a row.

So my expectations are low at this point. Whether we make the playoffs or not isn't really a concern of mine, because I am not interested in anything but a SB and I know that isn't happening this year.

So I'm just hoping for good football from here on out. I'd love to see 60 minutes of good play. Even if we end up losing, so be it, just play good football for once. I can handle our guys getting beat 1 on 1 by more talented players, but the horrible scheme, horrible playcalling, horrible decision making, being out of position, dumb plays, etc. needs to stop.

They would have to go 9-7-1 to even have a chance of squeaking in. I don't see that happening.

To answer your question, no. But the Steelers 2008 team's o-line was brutal. The Colts 2006 d-line was giving up 300 yard rushing games. Those two teams went on to win Super Bowls. The 2005 Steelers were the first 6th seed to win a Super Bowl. NE and KC are starting to separate themselves from the AFC, so even if the Steelers luck in, they will not win a first round game. So I get your point about losing for draft position. The sad thing is, no matter what draft position the Steelers select, the players will not be coached up to their maximum potential. As talented as Roethlisberger is, he has never been coached up to his maximum potential. AB was coached up to his maximum potential by Mann and Drake. Butler is a good OLB coach and has helped Watt. Overall though, the current roster is not being coached up..

Henry may be able to use a walker and gain a 100 this week against the Steelers.

I think they can win the Titans and Browns games at home and the last game in Baltimore and finish at 9-7-1. I think the key game to keep an eye on this weekend is Bengals at Broncos. If the Bengals lose that game and assuming the Packers beat the Ravens things will get very very interesting even if the Browns beat the Raiders and go to 8-6. If the Steelers win Sunday against the Titans and they get the Bengals and Ravens to both lose then even if they lose at KC the following week looking at the Ravens, Bengals, and Browns remaining schedule the finishing 9-7-1 scenario and winning the division will seriously be a possibility these last 3 weeks.

Because it’s one game and anything can happen in one game. It’s not a best of 7 game series it’s one game, one day for that 3-4 hours and anything is possible especially this season where there is no dominant team and any team can be upset and lose.

the 2008 offensive line was bad. However, that defense was legit. The 2021 defense might have been good before being decimated by injuries, but that isn’t the hand they were dealt.

As for coaching them up. Johnson certainly seems to have been coached up very well. Even worked out his issues with drops. Gentry appears to have developed into a serviceable tight end as well…

Needless to say I am rooting for you but maybe we can pull off a win at home against Browns and Titans and that's a big maybe but IMO no way in hell we win in KC or Balt. So say we go 8-8-1 I'm not sure if that will get us in Playoffs but it will piss off Tomlin haters because he goes another year of .500 seasons or better.

If we manage to go 9-7-1, there’s actually a fair chance of making it, especially if we beat Cleveland and Baltimore. However, I’d be pretty surprised if we somehow managed to win 3 of the last 4.

Was watching the Titans yesterday, they are not a good team, not without Henry and AJ and yesterday was Jones first game back.

Probably the Steelers most winnable game left on the schedule, for what that’s worth. Titans and the Ravens game. Maybe they go 2-2 the rest of the way but I wouldnt put money on it.

I think we will go 2-2 the rest of the way. We’ve got to get to 8-8-1 to keep Tomlin’s streak of non-losing seasons intact.
