It's incredible right? If I'm a GM, I'm real weary about drafting any of these prospects that do dumb stuff like this. Late rd flyer maybe but nothing early. If you can't control yourself now, how the heck are you going to when you have millions in your pocket? MAJOR RED FLAG.

Yet we sign Mike Adams, I guess it is ok if it's the Pgh Steelers. Here is a guy that failed a drug test at the combine. Came begging for the Steelers
to give him another chance. I guess I didn't see the green font in the above paragraph.

I'm not speaking for the Steelers, I'm speaking for myself, I wouldn't touch these character issue guys. Sure, some work out, more don't.

Where did I say it was ok for the Steelers? Or are you just trying to pick a fight? I'm much happier with their approach the last 2 drafts, they are clearly making an effort to stay away from guys like Adams, Rainey, Ta'amu and rightfully so, seeing as how they keep getting burnt.

Rainey was a roll of the dice and a perfect example of character issues staying with a guy from college to the NFL. What an idiot. On the other hand, as a 5th round pick with major potential as a player, I don't hate the pick. In fact, I still like it. Not the outcome, but the roll of the dice. If he had held his stuff together, he could have been a very valuable member. He could have - likely would have - been a great return man and part-time offensive weapon. He did contribute, in his short time here. Way more than Archer has. If Rainey had stuck, there's no way we draft Archer, and we possibly land a CB, or some other position of need. I'm willing to spend a 5th on a guy with that potential.

What they need to do is stop using Maurkice "Free the Murderer" Pouncey as a character reference. I love Pounce, but let's not take his advice anymore.

I still see Adams as a character success story (so far at least). It's as a player he hasn't worked out. Some guys have character issues and they go away. I'd hate to pass on a guy that carries outstanding value, IF I thought his problems were behind him. I sure would have taken Vontaze Burfict with one of my four 7ths.

That said, there are plenty of guys I wouldn't touch. It's a case-by-case basis, and value and interviews and need and who else is available all play huge roles.

Point that I'm getting is: Don't spend a high draft pick on these guys with character issues. But agree with Snack, hey if they drop to a 5th or later round why not take a chance. Not many 5-7 make a roster as a rookie anyway, not much risk. Of course, some guys aren't going to drop from 1st to 5th based on a DUI charge either.

This is were the vetting process has to come into play. We have to find out a lot about these players before we invest millions into them. Come on Steelers due your due diligence.

Yeah I'm looking at Frank Clark, DE/OLB from Michigan in that 5-7 round range this year. Sounds like someone who is worth taking the chance on.
