 How can some of these prospects be this stupid? It's like liquoring up on the way to a job interview.

Yep, if I was a potential 1st. round draft pick I would hire a car service if I was even thinking about drinking . Heck if I was broke I am sure the company would run a tab until I got my contract signed.

Hey maybe we need to start a service for these kids ?

It's incredible right? If I'm a GM, I'm real weary about drafting any of these prospects that do dumb stuff like this. Late rd flyer maybe but nothing early. If you can't control yourself now, how the heck are you going to when you have millions in your pocket? MAJOR RED FLAG.

Watch, we'll probably draft Gregory in the 1st, and P.J. in the 2nd. Of course that would've been a creme dream before all this happened. Maybe it still is, who knows.

All they have to do is keep a clean nose for a few months...... for that lottery chance to get more $$$$ than many college grads make in a long long time (even lifetime). Sheesh

He is probably off the Steelers board now. Which is fine, I wasn't a fan. Plus he was driving on a suspended license?? Probably from the hit and run he had earlier in the year. Dumb.

No way the Steelers will consider drafting him in the first round now, he is a good player he can play safety and cornerback.

I'd point to Mike Adams as a relative success story in regards to a guy who messed up during the interview process that we rolled the dice on. He's kept his nose clean in my book. I honestly don't consider being outside late at night to be against the rules, especially in May. Don't get me wrong, he's busting as a player, but not because of the off-field issues that dropped him to us in the 2nd round.

I'd take a good, hard look at PJ, and decide if he's a Mike Adams or a Pacman Jones. If he's a Pacman, put him on your board for the 7th. If he's an Adams, put him on your board for the 2nd.

With Adams, I don't know of any other off field issues he had in college. Williams has more than one significant character strike. Having said that, I am not privy to the team's security investigations. If they think that they can nurture this young man, and his production will outweigh potential risks, then by all means...

Given how that case unfolded and verdict, I'd say Adams put himself in a very bad situation and was in fact the aggressor. I defended the heck out of him but either he had a terrible lawyer or was liquored up in the early morning hours and got into an altercation.

When a player has character concerns, it doesn't matter how "little" they've messed up since going pro, 1 incident is too much and this was a pretty big incident, nearly cost him his life.

I'd say more often than not, players who have problems in college while poor, will only get worse when they go pro. Exceptions to every rule of course.

I'm not up to speed on Williams's other character "strikes." That certainly makes a difference. It makes it that much worse to get a DUI, knowing he just has to stay out of trouble one more month.

Call me a hillbilly, but I say it's Adams' right as an American to be out late at night drunk. I remember there was ultimately a little controversy about who was the aggressor, but I was never swayed. (I'm not doing research right now, so I might have missed something.) 3 against 1 and he was stabbed, I'm not blaming the victim.

He was involved in a hit and run last fall. He was sited for leaving the scene and driving w/a suspended license.

Ok, but in his defense, knowing what we know now, he was probably drunk.

Of course its his right but we are discussing college players who use poor judgment and then have it carry on when they are in the pros.

I forget who said it at the time it occurred, maybe Herm Edwards but nothing good happens after midnight. This was well past midnight and he was nearly twice the legal limit. It's his right to go out and drink but it is not his right to get drunk and drive which is exactly what would have happened had he not gotten into a fight.

Is that a fact? Was he stabbed by the most hardcore DD ever?

I don't care about "Nothing good happens after midnight." That's a great soundbite, and I'll do you the favor of forgetting it was that genius Herm Edwards (among others) that said it. I think it's BS. Plenty of good things happen after midnight. Life does. I bet half the members of this board were conceived after midnight. Judgment comes into play. Hanging out with gangsters who shoot people or might get shot after midnight - bad idea. Hanging out with your dear friends after midnight - your choice - and if you get stabbed, it's probably not your fault. We shouldn't have to #adapt to the criminals.

Only the worst people blame rape victims for being raped because they were drunk at a club, showing cleavage. After all, it is way easier to get raped in those circumstances than being tucked tightly in bed by 8 o'clock. So why is it different blaming a stabbing victim for being awake and drunk and outside after midnight? Drinking does not buy you trouble unless you start trouble, and there's no proof that happened, unless you count claims from the guy that did the stabbing.

WTH are you talking about? He was 2 times the legal limit, thats a FACT. Do you really believe he was going to call a cab, Snack? Really? He changed his story 3 times, thats a fact. He was stabbed and lost the case, thats a fact. Pretty safe bet that Adams wasn't a little angel in all this. And how do you know that he didn't start that whole thing and was stabbed in self defense? The man is 6'7" and 325lbs. I'd stab the **** out of him if came at me and that was my only means to defend myself. But we don't know what happened, we just know that he was 2 times the legal limit and wasn't home. You want to believe he'd call a cab, maybe walk his big ass home, you go ahead.

And I don't know where the hell you are pulling the rape victim crap from, was Mike Adams raped? Did anything I wrote anywhere remotely insinuate that I blame rape victims? I hope you aren't implying that.

By the way, I think Herm Edwards is great, so keep your favor.

Did he not fail a drug test before combine? Did he not come crawling on his knees to the Steeler organization begging for another chance?
Yes I did forget about the stabbing.
