Like with the Steelers, I'm a loyal Pitt fan through and through, along with the Pens and Pirates. Each team in my lifetime tenure have had their share of stardom and success along with spans of frustration and dismal seasons. Sports at the college and pro level is not what it once was with the TV deals and other financial aspects impacting team building and level fields. In spite of all this, I'll still root heartily for each when they take the field or ice. It's in my blood and nothing will take that away.

I went to Pitt, but have no delusions about them being in the top 32, if indeed such a super 'conference' is adapted. It may happen, but a lot of football teams will be left out as well. Personally i think college football will actually suffer if such a thing happens, in the end money will determine what they do, but that should not be a surprise to anyone.

I'll say one thing for Pitt, they were part of the fantastic Championships of the 70's in the Burgh. 1971-1980 7 Pittsburgh Championships.

Isn't going to happen ever again for Pitt FB with all the realignments and the zany NIL vortex. I was shocked when I looked up the National Championship Schools for the past 25 years. See anything in common? Other than Michigan, OSU and USC sneaking in a few times, crickets for anyone outside of the deep deep south.

Well Pitt in a reversal of fortune managed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat today at Cincy. FG with 14 seconds left gave them first lead of the day and a 1 pt W. I'll take it. Who's this Reid guy? Had nearly 150yds on the ground and over 100 in the air. Another Tony D? Not a terribly tough schedule this year with Vassar, Conley Trade School and Skidmore yet to play. :drinks:
