Sounds like the Vikings want to trade Percery Harvin. He is in the last year of his rookie contract. People think he is around a 10 million a year guy for a new contract, which is similar to what the Steelers offered Walllace, but that was before we threw 42 million at Brown.

Harvin has had run ins with Leslie Frazier and other coaches, so he sounds like a Mike Wallace talent but with problems.

    Thoughts???

I don't think we can afford him with out some major cuts to current players.

So, more than likely won't happen.

I knew it wouldnt be long for a Percy post to come up...SMH. No. Be easier to just keep Wallace instead of trading for someone who has had injury issues and been a team disturbance at times.

Not ever. You'd basically have to blow the team up to get a part time player.

I'm with you guys, I was just grasping at straws, to get some thought. We would be further ahead to keep Wallace, which I don't think is going to happen either. I'm thinking of replacing through the draft.

Check out the link I posted in the draft section, had a break down of 10 wr which could be available to us, some of them fit the big fight for the ball type of receiver many of us want. I'd fill the position with one of them rather then spend the money on a FA.

we don't have money for any free agent that would cost more than a vet min.

The only free agent we will be trying to sign is our own Keenan Lewis. And thats after we restructure and make room for his salary.

I think when Steelers drafted Rainey they had the Percy Harvin mold in mind, although Rainey is no where near as good.

Harvin has some health concerns...I would pass...

he lost his big dollar value when the NFL basically stopped KO returns... and the pats want him.. so where do you think he would go for the same money? to the pats or us... used to be to us..

I don't want him just because of the locker room stuff.

As far as the injuries go, he had his ankle injury last year and cost him the rest of the season but it wouldn't have most likely if it wasn't for his attitude. He missed 3 games in the previous 3 years due to migranes and none in 2011 or 2012 because of migranes so those seem to be under control. The ankle seems like a fluke injury to me.

Have watched many vikings game because of where I live. Harvin is twice as good as wallace as a wr. He goes get the ball at all times. Plus he is a strong runner. Plus he is about as fast as wallace.

There's actually an article on NFL.COM right now that says Bowe has so much baggage that scouts are saying they'd have major second thoughts about signing him. So it would appear that if that's true that MAYBE we could get him for a deal if they'd be willing to take the risk. I mean assuming that teams don't come beating his door down could that lower his price to the point we could afford him. I've made it really known that I personally would take Greg Jennings over any of the high profile free agents. But I also like Bowe. He's had his issues with drops too though.

I believe he is another part timer. Severe migranes? No
thanks, we want players that want to play every down every game.
Sorta like Ryan Clark. I hope the Steelers don't draft any more Woodleys
    or of this type.

Considering some of the problems with players last season I just don't see the Steelers going after anyone who has issues at this time.

I just don't get all the hate for Woodley? Prior to the New England game in 2011 I don't recall him being often injured.

Woodley has gotten soft since he got paid, not when he was drafted. They need the pre big money Woodley this season.

Percy Harvin? :lolol: Another headcase. The Steelers have one already, but not for long.

I agree Wood has had some issues over the last year and a half, but we all know what he is capable of. He still has some of his best football ahead of him. Whether or not his appearant condoitioning problem was a result of his injuries or not is another debate. Point is that Wardismvp is wrong to suggest we shouldn't draft players like Woodley.

I would personally rather Bowe over Harvin, but I can't believe some of the things I'm reading here about Harvin. You guys talk like he constantly misses games, underperforms, etc. The guy is a stud WR, and on top of that, he returns kicks and punts, throws the ball and rushes the ball out of the backfield. The guy is the real deal. He's a star in the NFL and his numbers support that. He hasn't missed nearly as many games as some of you believe, just look at the numbers. Yeah, he's been prone to migraines in the past, but it hasn't caused him to miss many games at all.

Steeler Glenn, thats what I was kind of saying. I was all up for drafting Woodley. He was a stud. I agree he still can be. If he wants to. There was no downside to drafting a player like him.

That being said, whether it is his injurys or lack of staying in shape, he has digressed. I believe his early success got him the dough that was thrown his way (I was NOT in favor of such a high dollar contract) and since he has notperformed for the money he was afforded.

Leslie Fraser is from the same school Coach Tomlin is. Reports are Fraser and Harvin don't see eye to eye. Coaches talk i'm sure.

Do you actually watch Woodley play? All he does anymore is stay engaged with the guy blocking him, one guy only. He puts no pressure on the QB 90%
of the time. Since he got the big contract he has went in hibernation. We put no pressure on the opposing QB. If I could I would cut him and his big salary tomorrow. You would get the same production out of any linebacker in free agency and pay 1/10th. the price.
" He still has some of his best football ahead of him" HaHa good one:applaud:
