Some people: they can't coach the D.
Me : In the Last two years we are in the top 6, and top 8 in least points allowed, and tied for number 1, and top 10 in forced turnovers. So..
Some Hypocrites : because of the players.
LoL....somehow we are the only team in the NFL that does bad because of coaching, and good because of the players.
    :roflmao::roflmao::lolol::lolol:

You Tomlin apologists do the same exact thing except flipped around. Nothing ever the coaches fault always the players. Goes both ways :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

Stats in the regular season for the defense have never been a problem for the steelers....But if you look at the last 6 playoffs game for the steelers, this is 38 PPG and over 400 offensive yards for the opposing team...This is ugly

KC Baltimore and Buffalo for sure. Cincy and Houston quite possibly. NE Den and LAC maybe. I think NE will be decent this year.

The playoffs when coaching game planning and scheming matters more than ever. Correct.

I'm not an apologist, I'm a realist, and the same was said about Me about Cowher years ago....oh how You haters sure disappeared later, and now even have raised the then hated Cowher to God like status. It's funny how some of you just repeat what is said....like sheep.
Difference is , I give actual evidence, I said facts , we were number 1, and 10 in the last two years in turnovers on D, and 6, and 8 on points allowed, and you just say the same things.....a sheep says what??? LoL LoL LoL.
Why don't you just say the truth.....You have no original well thought out answers .....so you bleat .

Oh .....Oh....so from Your mouth the regular season doesn't matter, and those stats don't matter.....so they should take away Lamar Jackson's MVPs right, because once he's in the playoffs that's not how he plays....right , right??? I mean 13 over all tds, with 10 ints, and 7 fumbles.....that's far far far from being a MVP.....so by your words....the regular season MVPs should then not count, or do these rules just apply to the Steelers???? LoL.

What Lamar Jackson has to do with that????....Don't compare a player to a entire unit!

For sure, essentially that's the root cause of the point i was making. There's definitely a base to build around in the coming years: Benton, Harmon, Queen, and JPJ, with guys like Yaya, Sawyer, Herbig, Trice and such being quality depth. Good news is they have a ton of conditional picks to really help out in the depth department next year, and will probably have even more in 27.

Houston and Bungles. I don't trust a team with Burrow. I'm assuming their D will improve.

With the acquisition of Jonnu Smith I don't think they need a big name WR2, there is talk Gabe Davis might sign with them later on.

The defense isn't getting much help from the offense how about scoring more points and stop turning the ball over .

Or maybe the defense could force a turnover or even do something remarkable like holding the other team to a FG.

The turnovers is a weak excuse since they still gave up over 400 yards per game and the opposing QB have a QB rating of over 120 with like 17 TD and 1 INT in those game....Our run defense was also very bad

Newsflash: If you don't turn the ball over it gives your offense a better chance to score, and if you possess the ball longer it gives your defense more rest.

I agree that our offense has been poor in the last 4 playoffs game but the turnovers is not the only problem for our defense

I mean,in 2016,the first turnovers vs pats, the steelers were down 27-9...vs chiefs in 2021,the steelers were down 28-7 when Harris had a fumble.Last year in Baltimore, they had 0 turnover but they still gave up almost 300 rushing yards

I can gave a pass for the Browns, chiefs and Bills for different reason but the 3 other games, they were very poor, like poor gameplan vs pats in 2016,not ready vs jaguars and outcoached and outplayed vs ravens...This is a trend right now

You are the second biggest apologist on this board. But by all means carry on…

If you were a realist you would have wanted MT fired years ago.

    Fair.

That said, that was very seldom for Brady. Have seen it twice over for Mahomes; the biggest game no less. Mahomes is great no doubt but there is a reason that Brady is number one by many.

Mahomes struggles in the Super Bowl both times had more to do with his OL not being able to block.

You forgot to add the highest paid defense in the league. They have the talent and payroll to be #1. Why aren't they? Shît play calling, scheme, lack of adjustments, poor player development, which is all on coaching.

Fair enough but getting turnovers involves luck a lot of times.

Brady didnt have the best Offensive Lines either when he won his sans Tampa Bay. Hell, Big Ben had the worst O Line and won it himself.

Jow Burrow even took a bad O Line to the Super Bowl. Even Josh Allens first three playoff trips have been marred by below average Offensive Line Play.

The Offensive Line is important no doubt. However, QBs are the highest paid for a reason. They have to figure out ways to win even when a unit ianr playing qell more often than not. Mahomes didnt do that this past Super Bowl.

For the people that don't understand contracts, and rookie years....this probably seems a bad thing but when You actually think about it....our offense is cheap because 90% of it, or more is on rookie deals still. Look at the top 5 paid Ds, and then look at our record, and theirs.
