This is just mind boggling! Why would you keep these guys on the PS if you don't think they can eventually step up and do the job? Why are you signing guys that have been sitting on their butts all season? I know some of these guys are raw and you want to preserve PS eligibility for the next year, but seriously the situation is getting ridiculous!

 

It's frustrating. Do the rules about promoting from the PS have something to do with it at all? Or can you just promote from your own PS and demote at will?

 

Not sure, but the competition committe should take a long look at tweaking the roster rules sometime soon in order to help with the seemingly increase in injuries.

 

I know they can only be active for a certain number of games or participate in X amount/percentage of snaps before they lose PS eligibility.

If you snag one from another squad though, he has to go on the 53 man for a certain amount of time.

 

i saw on steelers.com, they had some video's of practice and hubbard was with the first unit at RG. so they are mixing guys in at least.

i just don't understand why we wouldn't dress joe long and hubbard as backups and make a spot to finish the season with them active. we have room. cut gordon loose and bring him up. he's been on the PS for two years. he should know the offense, and the biggy, he's healthy. we have room for he and hubbard now. we also will know if they are worth keeping for next year. fast track olsen at guard and center this week and next.
