opposing defense know what is coming

The reason our offense sucks is that the opposing defense know what is coming. they are getting a head start ahead of our blockers. are they stealing signals? I think they found our tendencies. they probably studied our films. why our coordinators don't adjust?

Canada has a very limited play book and I can even tell you when we are going to run 8 times out of 10. It's not going to get better while he's here. It's just not.

 

We heard about defenders calling out what the plays were before the ball was snapped last year, apparently nothing has improved since then.

It used to be that our offense would script the first 15 plays to run every game to see how the defenses react to different formations, plays, or whatever. If still in effect, how's that working out? We really don't have a coaching staff that will or can our x and o another teams brain trust. We run what we run and hope things work out. I have no evidence of this but prove me wrong based on recent results. I see articles about our HC saying, after getting blown out by SF, that we're not going to change anything. Well, f ing great. Next team up and expect different result? I am not an expert being paid millions to figure this crap out, just frustrated for the past decade of watching do nothing special football. But outside looking in, I have no clue what to expect from this team week to week. JMO>

Then what was the point of the script? If we’re trying to see how the defense responds to different formations…what is the planned use for that information?

Yea, more than once defenders were on record stating they knew what play was coming including knowing where the ball was going; tough to get much done under those circumstances. But that is what you get when you make hiring decisions based on who gave your son a scholarship instead of actual credentials. What do you expect?

 

LoL. I got a good chuckle out of that.

 

They should have fired him right after Ben retired. But what is our alternative? The quarterback coach? They are definitely not going to bring in anyone from outside. Our best solution is right him to the end of the season unless we are mathematically out of the playoff race or go with the quarterback coach. But he's not going to bring in anything new. He'll just call Canada's plays in a different order.

Then we can still hope that the team comes together and we make a season out of this mess. Even if they do show signs of life, I would still fire him.

If you have actual evidence to support this claim feel free to post it and a civil debate can be had on the matter. What evidence would there be? Tomlin has said familiarity with things is good. Having brothers on the same team is good. I do not think Canada got the job due to any scholarship for Mike's son. I do think they were possibly more familiar using Tomlins words with each other which could by why being he coached at Pitt and MD. I certainly don't think any of those things are necessarily bad as this is how connections and the real world works.

Yes, but that's far different from stating he only got the job because he gave Tomlin's son a scholarship. The latter implies he did a favor for Tomlin's family, so he returned it by giving him a job in the NFL. Canada was just coming on board at Maryland when Tomlin's son signed; there was no time for him to arrange the scholarship, nor was Maryland the only college to offer him one.

 

What facts do you need? Did Canada give Tomlin's son a scholarship while at MD? Yes, he did. Afterwards, did Tomlin hire Canada eventually as OC? Yes he did. What facts are you disputing? Go ahead and directly dispute them if you can.
