I have watched the all 22 about 3 times , I have already been sick . Ben was locked in and didn't play well at all. He missed open guys all day long . You can't see that on the TV screen. Part of the reason I say don't break the bank to sign him.

Yup I've not watched the whole film, but for all the praise the Baltimore secondary received for handling the Steelers explosive play-makers, the odds makers know better.

This is what I've been saying since the game ended. It wasn't what Ben did that cost us the game, it was what he didn't do. He played beyond bad and the pass rush isn't to blame. He stared down receivers all game, didn't change the plays/protection when he should have, didn't let the ball go on time, etc. It was easily one of his worst games of the year. Ben has too many of those games. Top QB's shouldn't play bad that often. It's unacceptable.

Ben just seemed confused all game long. The Ravens did do a few atypical things, and I think that really threw him off his game. He seemed to not have any idea where the pressure was coming from, which led to a lot of the pressure he faced

Every so often the offense just comes out playing distracted. The Baltimore game reminded me of the game when Blount and Bell got busted. I tend to agree with your assessment, though - Ben wasn't calling TOs when he needed to, missing reads, etc. It's the kind of game you want in week 8 rather than a Wild Card game.

I think the game tape coupled with our Redzone problems should afford the Team the leverage when dealing with Ben. Even with all the yards that Ben put up he still couldn't score the ball this season . He couldn't do it under BA. I think Ben can be a good QB , but he will never be that true field General.

Bens problem is his Football IQ plain and simple . He has never learned the running game as a result he doesn't truly understand PA passes . He has problems with pre snap reads as a result he doesn't get in the right hot route at the right time on a consistent basis . This is what leads to not scoring points in the Redzone when the field is shorter.

The College open thing needs to go as well he needs to learn to throw guys open better and more often . Ben also needs to keep getting better at his check downs scan the field quick and get the ball out or check it down needs to speed up his clock in a sense.

If a team was willing to pay the right price we should consider it . We don't need a great game bad game QB . We for sure don't need a stat monster who can't score when it counts. Hopefully he will keep working on the things above.

Agree fully. It won't happen because we're a very conservative franchise that doesn't make bold moves like trading a QB, but if the price was right, it should be considered. I agree that the mental aspect is Ben's problem. He can make all the throws. Hell, he can make throws that Brady and Manning can't (like those deep out throws that very few QB's can make). He just struggles mentally. If he could get over the mental blocks, he could be the top QB in the game. That won't happen at this point in his career though. I really think over the years coaches were so impressed with his improvising abilities, that they didn't work with him enough to play the position properly. I think if he had received better coaching over the years, he would be an even better QB than he is right now

Lot easier for you guys to see opened receivers from coaches tape and your TV's but quite another when you are on the field and under siege all day. This is why myself and others believe the front seven is so important, because when you get pressured as much as Ben was, even when there is no pressure, you've been hit so much that you think its there. Or seeing ghosts as Clark would say.

Tell Ben to call Ghost Busters then.'I aint afraid of no Ghost'. No OL will ever block everyone all the time. As a Football player you need to have a short memory . Can't dwell on the last play you have to focus on the next one . Don't get beat mentally , that's basically what you are saying.

The OL got beat so in turn they beat Ben and broke his will . Sounds like he needs more Football IQ a faster clock, better pre snap reads all the things I mentioned above to help keep those Ghost from haunting him. 'We have exercised the Demons '. 'This house is clear'.

Good points. While Ben should have been more aware, it's a different perspective to watch overhead shots after the fact than it is to make split second decisions under pressure. Ben could have and should have done better, but it's not completely black and white.

Wow, really? Ben handles a bad line better than anyone. Give me a break, he was sacked 5 times an pressured all day. too much pressure will beat anyone. Thats why its more important then the secondary and you saw why on Sat, Ravens secondary isn't exactly lights out.

I should of just used TTF's response.

One of my criticisms of Ben (AND THIS DOESN'T MEAN I DON'T CONSIDER BEN ONE OF THE BEST QBS IN THE LEAGUE AND WE SHOULDN'T RE-SIGN HIM!) is that he seems to be a little on the lazy side when it comes to game prep at times. Do you think it's possible that Ben felt like he knew the Rats defense so well that there was no need to put any extra time in in preparing for the game? And then when the Rats threw a few extra wrinkles into their defensive scheme it got Ben off his game a little and he missed wide open guys because their front 7 had him a little rattled? Ben NEVER looked comfortable that entire game and unfortunately we've seen that kind of performance in big moments before out of Ben. I just think it's quite possible that his preparation leading up to the game was insufficient.

EDIT: Wow! I just read the article. We got out-played and out-smarted on both offense and defense AND out-prepared, out-schemed and out-game planned in all aspects of coaching!!!!! In short, A TRULY PATHETIC PERFORMANCE AT THE WORST POSSIBLE TIME!!!

Ben says 'Alligators are aundrey because they have all those teeth and no tooth brush.'
Ben says 'Cornerbacks are aundrey because they have all those feet and no balls.'

You playing the foolsball Ben ? I love Ben...

Dude get real trade Ben  you won't get equal value. You want a rookie QB leading the Steelers? If the O-line did their job and picked up the blitzes the outcome could've been different.

Nonsense none of us fans know how much Ben prepares for games. Constant pressure will make any great QB look average, remember when the Steelers beat the Ravens this season Flacco didn't look too good because he was getting hit. Then in the playoff game Flacco had time to throw and played better, I put the blame on the O-line giving uo 5 sacks more than I blame Ben.

3 times. They also had Bell that game, didn't put up great numbers but his mere presences changes things.

Bell picks up the Blitz that gave Suggs his INT. If that happens Heath and AB are "WIDE" open! The Safeties are staring into the backfield! Bryant was open as well because his corner stepped in front of him to keep him from blowing by and got freight trained!

as I've always said, ben likes what ben likes and is comfortable with. good bad or indifferent. ben went into the game uncomfortable without his security blanket in bell and tried to force that into his other comforts of AB and heath. I don't think you are ever going to change him. with a good defense we can keep games close and give him more opportunities to success. do that and we can win with ben.

On that second play they showed it was Tate that missed. I was watching some stuff about the game and apparently that play is the reason that Tate got benched. That and a play where he dropped a check down.
