i think they are #2 against the pass. also i believe the Steelers were playing not to lose and werent really showing much.

i am still very concerned with their redzone offense. they have too many weapons to always struggle down there. play calling has to improve.

I'm pretty sure they are dusting off a 2 back set with both Clay and Redman in there. I would love the Bam/Pegram look

I have no problem with the comments about how to get better. The one and done comment...no tolerance for that kind of talk here.

We need to improve in some areas that's a no brainer and it's ok to be critical to a certain degree, but the constant fire Arians, Mendy sucks, Bens a Drama queen, Gilbert is a bust, Hood is a bust, Farrior is old and slow, William Gay sucks, Poly can't tackle, our O-line stinks and on and on type stuff gets old after a while. It goes beyond having an opinion about what is supposed to be your favorite team. The same people complaining about all this stuff will be the first in line to buy the new SuperBowl hat this year. I love the Steelers and root for this team every week. I get frustrated at some of the play calling just like others do, but i wouldn't start a rediculous thread like "one and done". Probably the same people who are always on here asking where can I watch the game or listen to it? What Steeler fan doesn't have Sunday Ticket or know a sports bar that's showing the game. Really?

You haven't been on this earth longer then me. And there is no way Denver should be a threat but I will agree much needs to be done to take advantage of the tools and skill of this team

1 and done is just a knee jerk reaction because we didn't blow out another professional football team. I dont give a crap who it is, if it was so easy to do you would see 40 - 0 games every week.

Steelers did not have a SB hangover and went 12-4. Not much more to say about that except that they are in the tournament.

I am going to go out on a limb a bit here, and say that the 2011 Broncos might be the weakest team the Steelers have ever faced in a postseason game. Certainly they have the worst record of any team that they have played in the post season.

That being said, the pessimist in me says -quietly- that I'd rather see the team lose next week than lose later to the Ravens or Patriots.

I think we'll be 2 and out... We should man handle the ponies even with a broken team. I don't think we can beat the Pats twice in one season (2004 season anybody?), and we don't have an answer for the new ratbirds, especially with a broken Ben, and injury riddled O-line & defense.

I'm pulling for them as hard as ever, I'm just not getting my hopes up.

It doesn't matter when we play mediocre teams. We did not look that good against a 4-12 team today.

I admire your optimism, although i'm sure the ravens thought the same back in 2008. I didn't think there was any way the ravens were gonna beat us in pittsburgh after the beating we took in bmore week 1. However I hope your right cuz it would be pretty sweet to beat them in their own house, GO STEELERS!!!

Hey we have an injured QB, Center, and Guard but we still managed to win in the snow on the raod against a divsion rival. We will destroy the Broncos and as long as we continue to get healtier (Minus Mendy) we will be just fine.

BE realistic. The Denver game will not be a blow out. Denver's offense sucks but their defense isn't to bad. Our offense is pitiful at the moment. Because of his injury, Ben can't do to good what makes him so dangerous, make plays outside the pocket.
We should win but it will probably because of plays our defense makes!

diehardsteel, I'm backing SteelerGlen on the FIRE BRUCE ARIANS IMMEDIATELY comment. Any chance to let it be known that this guy should be gone is a good comment. His time is up for real. He doesn't have to really be fired unless he wants to come back because his contract is up after the season is over. The offense has steadily regressed since he became OC. There are so many situations that prove it. What else do you need to see that proves to you that Arians has no clue as far as being a competent OC. Lets hope that the Steelers do something out of the ordinary and hire Norv Turner to be the new OC, if he is let go by the Chargers. As I always say, Bruce Arians couldn't carry Norv Turners jock strap as far as being a competent OC.

And please, don't let me get into all the reasons why Arians should be gone as the Steelers OC because there are to many reasons to list. Let me say these few things. First of all, Arians went back to his old ways after Mr. Rooney made his wishes known about him working on running the football a priority last year. He went right back to all the passing which hasen't worked this year. They scored 7 against the Ravens in the first game, 10 against the Texans, 17 against the Jaguars all in the first half, 13 against the Chiefs, 14 against the Browns in the first game, 3 against the 49ers, and 13 against the Browns on Sunday. Thats 17 points or less in 7 games. Thats sad for an offense with so much talent, and supposely a high powered offense that was suppose to score so many points this year.

Also, Arians got rid of all the legit full backs and started using TE's as lead blockers, (see former Steelers full back John Kuhn of the Packers who made the Pro-Bowl). There are many more reasons, need I say more?

I'm with Betiss40 but just because I don't think they will win does'nt mean I wont be supporting any less.
Here are a few reasons why, in the last 2 seasons there have been 2 non division winning teams that had good winning records against 2 division winning teams who didn't have a good winning record. Indy 12/4 travelled to Chargers 8/8 and got beat. Saints 10/6 travelled to Seattle 7/9 and got beat.
Both Indy and Patriots have not won a play off game since losing the SB.
With all the turnovers this year I'm expecting the Steelers to beat themselves.

Good points. We almost lost to Gabbert , Painter and Wallace. We're just not a good road team this year, especially with all the injuries. The Steelers should win but they are gonna have to fight their butts off.

Oh god no. I'd rather lose to a good team that to lose to an 8-8 team with a so-so QB. Plus if we lose, it'll be Tim Tebow 24-7 on all the channels. No way do I want them to lose this next game.

I thought everything went pretty much according to expectations yesterday in the NFL.
5th seed for the Steelers was the likely outcome, and will not be the deciding factor in our playoff success, or lack thereof.
Ben is obviously the bigger concern. He said he was only 60 percent yesterday, which I found frightening. He said he does not expect to be better than 75 percent in the playoffs. I find that ominous.
Even with Ben's ego and Tomlin's passivity, I can't believe Ben would have played yesterday if they thought it would set back his ankle recovery.
Anyhoo, one and done is probably a little too pessimistic. Two and done may not be.
I am hoping against hope we have a relatively east time with Tebow and the Broncs.
Ben has to be more mobile and confident on that ankle by the divisional round.
We can cope with the loss of Mendy, but it is bad news!
    Playoffs should be a blast!
