We saw the best America has to offer! God Bless the families of those who lost their lives, gave their lives, and saved the lives of others. I can't believe it has been 13 years because it still seems like yesterday to me. God also Bless the troops that still remember there are some things worth fighting for! :flag:

Wrote a long post. Decided I'd rather not put it out there. :rules:and all that. It was a horrible day. It hasn't been a great 13 years since.

For all the rescue workers, the fallen soldiers, victims of 9/11 and their families. :flag::flag::flag:

Do we have any members here that are from/near Shanksville? For my money, what happened in the skies over that city that day was probably the greatest act of American Heroism since 1776. Just regular civilians fighting for their rights and laying down their lives for others.

    Just saw this thread...

I read an article a couple months ago, that made me think...

Do you realize there is a whole generation of Americans(born post 9/11/01),

Who are now around 12 or 13 years old, who never knew what the world, or more specifically,
This country, were like, BEFORE that?!?!

Why, we screen at airports, train stations, subways, etc?!?

To them, "heightened security", is just the norm...

They don`t realize how much that day changed our policies...

And to the younger ones, It`s just gonna be a day they read about in history class...

Not sure if I should feel sorry for them, or be glad we are more prepared...

Pretty sure, I am sad they can`t grow up in the "innocent" world that I did...

Before 24/7 news spread news of school shootings, and everything else, that make this world feel like a nightmare, to the innocent children.

Thank you to every soldier we have, and every one else, who tries to protect us from all that!!!:flag:

The movie made about that was really good. Heros for sure.

Remember that day like yesterday, was working for a promotional company, went back to the printing dept to give the next work order and the guy says to me, a plane just hit the WTC, I said, geeze, hope thats not true. Early reports were sketchy, maybe a Cessna hit the building, no one knew at first it was an airliner. As reports started flooding in, people were getting more visibly upset, then it became apparent we were under attack. I jumped on the phone, have 2 brothers that work in the city, one in the Empire State Building the other, a contractor, was supposed to be across the street from the WTC on a job, neither went to the city that day, thank God.

I'll never forget my pig of a boss, while all of America shut down that day, mine turned all the radios off and cracked the whip to work harder. One person left, she was fired. I still want to cave that guys face in.

Finally got home, sat in front of the TV the rest of the day. Sometime over the next couple of days, went to Sears and bought a ton of supplies, sent it in to ground zero, there were organized drop off points to send stuff in.

God Bless all that perished, their familes and to all who helped. :flag:
