Sapp at it with his Shtick again.....guess he needs to reach below the 30 year mark to 28. next year he'll be calling the 25 yo guys old.

Guy is such a tool!! I wouldnt give you 2 cent for anything that comes out of his mouth. Everytime he speaks I wonder how he keeps a job doing what he does???

 

Same here, but he doesn't have to speak for me to wonder that. I get that hateable personalities can be good for ratings, but he doesn't even have anything of value to say on any topic, and he speaks like his mouth is full of marshmallows (which it might well be). AND he does that annoying Jay Leno thing where he talks real loud and then real quiet and I have to adjust the volume every three seconds. Add in some "alleged" woman choking and you've got yourself an NFL Network analyst. With the number of unemployed people in this country, how can someone so unqualified get a job, let alone keep it after sucking forever?

We had just a few categories that we weren't #1 overall on D last year.

Points a game - we finished 6th
Give/Take - we finished around 25th
Rushing - we finished 2nd
Total tackles - we finished tied for 8th

Total - 1st
Passing - 1st
Downs - 1st

Yep, we dropped a whole year in average starter age, but THIS D will somehow be worse. If this D is worse it won't be because we are older, it will be because we are younger. Somehow they overlook the fact that Clark didn't play in Denver. They overlook that Harrison missed the first 3 games. They overlook that Woodley missed 3 games. They overlook that Troy only played 7 games. Overlook that Ike only played 12 games.

You are talking about Pro Bowlers who are missing games. 4 of those 5 guys have made the Pro Bowl, and the one who hasn't (Ike) probably should have. 2 of those guys have won the AP Defensive player of the year. The D mentioned above as being old and slow...the D mentioned above which led the league in defense...that D was missing main cogs in ALMOST every game. I think the D as a hole was together for 1 game....1. The D last year as good as they were, could be BETTER this year. Watch out!

 

Whatever!!!! His opinion on anything matters nothing to me. He's the worst commentator/analysis on TV period.

To his defense he was just answering a question. He's still a loud mouth idiot though. Troy may be "old" but he still plays fast. Clark may be "old" but he still plays fast. Ike may be "old" but he's still fast enough to cover the Oppoenents #1 WR. Keisel may be "OLD" but he's still one of the best 3-4 DEs in the league in QB pressures/hits/sacks and tackles. It would be a miracle to be the #1 ranked defense and be old& slow. and then repeat it.

I just wish the NFL Network would hire HOFers that actually have an intelligent thought to convey. Sapp brings their network down. I hope when Clarks career is over he goes to the NFL Network, hopefully replacing Sapp-- Ironic Justice.

Well, To be fair. If Shannon Sharpe can continue his career in broadcasting then even a muted Mime may be able to hold a job in that profession. As a matter of fact, I probably would be able to understand the Flower, Hat and White gloves guy better.

 

Until they cut everyone and hire the North Allegheny Tigers defense in its place, probably not. Does it matter anyway? If they keep these same guys in uniform for the next 3 decades, I couldn't give a crap less so long as the results are there.

 

i'm surprised that anyone still pays sap any mind.. this is clearly a personal attack......... the man's been hating on us since his tampa days when he disrespected our warm ups, then proceeded to become a non-factor as we dominated them on the way to lee flowers still famous paper champions comment

I absolutely LOVE listening to Shannon Sharpe. NFL Radio hasn't been the same since he left a few years ago. I could listen to him trying to annunciate while fighting those runaway lips all day long.
