I tried to tell people that surgery for a torn meniscus is relatively minor and should allow for a quick recovery. I just had this discussion with a buddy of mine, who is having his knee scoped due to a torn meniscus this Friday. I had the same procedure almost two years ago and I was walking normally within a week. My buddy is a high school soccer referee and the doctor told him it would be four-to-six weeks before he could run a game. Of course, he's 46. Adeniyi is a lot younger and he is in a hell of a lot better shape than either of us. If he misses more than the opener, I'll be surprised.

Its good that he is practicing but I'm thinking he will be inactive on Sunday with the nod going to Chick and Skipper unless Chick isn't ready either than its a crap shoot who gets the helmet.

Maybe I will finally get "the call." I will keep my line open until Sunday morning!
