OK, what happened to Trenton Thompson yesterday?

I thought the plan was once they had Minka back they were going to move Thompson closer to the line to play more of a SS/ILB position and allow him to cover Tight Ends. Basically to take over for what Neal was bringing to the table with his cover style.

I don't remember seeing him covering McBride yesterday; it seems like I kept seeing Walker on McBride.

    Did I miss something?

You missed that we are a poorly coached team and have been for quite some time!! Coach T has gotten by with having some serious talent on both sides of the ball but the cupboard is running bare when those guys can't or aren't playing anymore!! It's time to call out the coach on his lack of performance and success!!

I am thinking the Steelers had Keith Butler scouting the Cards TE’s

Just another example of them underestimating the Cards. Why they wouldn't respect McBride though is difficult to understand, he's been killing everyone all year

Not really. I believe He's only had two good games before Sunday this year. I believe the game plan....at least how it looked early was to stop K. Murray runs, and Connor.

They also only played Benton for 24 snaps, so I’m not sure what they were thinking.

It's right up there with the plan to unleash hell on the rest of the league

McBride's a stud. He ranks fifth among all TEs in receiving yards and sixth in both targets and receptions despite only starting eight of 13 games (Ertz was Arizona's starter coming into the year; McBride's in his second year).

He took over as the starter permanently in Week 8. In the five games leading up to the Steelers he had 33 receptions on 44 targets for 351 yards (7/70 average) and 1 TD.

That, and because I heard it but did not confirm, did he also break his wrist and keep playing?

It is absolutely unfathomable to me that this is the THIRD (at least) player on the Steelers that’s made a direct reference to underestimating or not taking their competition seriously enough. That is on the HEAD COACH! Period. Full stop. End of story!
