I am really disappointed that we sort of wasted this year, a year when all the offensive linemen stayed relatively healthy. I am praying for a repeat next year. Its a rare thing in Pittsburgh lately.

I am excited and a little bit sad about Coach Lebeau's departure. It does 2 things; I think Tomlin no longer has any excuses for not getting this team back into the top 10 in defense going forward, no matter which defense and coordinator he goes with. And I think this is really the time when it becomes Tomlin's team.

I think this better be a defensive heavy draft, and we are going to need a few plug and play guys from it. Mostly in the back 4.

I think we need to sign a good tight end as our big free agent this year.

Timmons is the only Pro Bowl caliber player on the whole defense. They'll get it turned around but it may take another year or two.

Rather draft a Tight end late and let Heath develop him for a year or 2. Just my 2 cents

And after 2 years or so, we'd be starting to have to look for our next QB....and the cycle would continue :-/

Yeah. 1980's redux. It seems the Steelers made the same mistakes the past 4-5 years that they made in the 1980's by hanging on to veterans too long.

Healthy offensive line, top wideout, top RB, QB playing at his highest level, in an NFL that is set up to be offensive driven, scoring league, I do think we squandered a great opportunity. Anything can happen next year; Ben go down for the year in training camp, Bell have set backs, loose 4 offensive lineman in the first 4 weeks. I would have rather have been the 6th seed and played like we did against the Colts in the playoffs, instead of being the division champs.

I thought we got hot at just the right time. If Bell stays healthy... who knows. The play off loss is still a complete mystery to me, tbh.

I think we saw this season what the team is capable of. That alone makes it less of a waste than the previous two.

Didn't stay healthy enough, lost Bell, huge loss.

Team is heading in the right direction, so no, I don't see it as a waste.

I got to say the Belicheat showed the way to beat the Ravens. Not sure even if Bell was healthy we could of ran the ball against the Ravens. Where Bell would of helped is pass blocking and in the short outlet passes. We should of done what the patriots did and opened it up and passed every down and not even try running the ball. The Ravens are built to stop the run and to blitz.

The he game plan by the Patriots was what was needed to win. The only problem I had with our game loss was we still tried to run too many times when the only way to beat them was pass every down. Even Hines and others said the same thing. Sometime you got to take what they give you and not be so slow to make changes with the game plan when something isn't working with the plan.

I don't understand why the playoff loss is so confusing to everyone. Bell was the team MVP and gets hurt just prior to the playoffs starting. I said this right after Bell got hurt, I would have rather lost the game and kept Bell to play the Colts than what we got. I think we would have been playing today, but who knows.

Bell was the key cog for what this team was doing on offense and impacted how the defense played us. His blitz pickup and ability to catch out of the backfield were holes that were too large to fill at the last moment. And just for the record, I don't think Blount would have made any difference in those areas of the game.

When compared to winning the wild card game and then most likely having Bell back for divisional round, it does not compare. Because I think if we made it to second round, we mostly likely make it to the championship game. I liked our chances.

I have never been one to wish to lose a game. we would have had to beat the best in order to get there anyway. do you honestly think with this defense we could beat new England there?

The season wasn't a waste they won the division after consecutive 8-8 seasons, they weren't going to win a Super Bowl with this defense anyways.

Defense? They couldn't win at home with this offense.

Definitely not a wasted year IMO. After hovering at 8-8 for 2 years, there was no big let down (5 or 6 win season) as some media pundits were predicting.

This team isn't going to slip into the abyss for the next few years. Improve the defense and we will continue to compete for division titles and potential Super Bowl runs.

Honestly, I think the 11-5 record is mostly about lack of focus. You are looking at a team which lost to the NY Jets, the Saints, and Tampa Bay. We could finish next year with the same record and be markedly better as a football team heading into the playoffs. We play a harder schedule, not the lowly NFC South.

Last year at this time we had so many holes on this team, we all knew it was not a one year rebuilding process. The 11-5 record had us wanting more. The offense has fewer holes that it did at this time last year. The defense still has issues at OLB and defensive back, but I expect a big offseason focused on fixing just that.

We jus need to address the defensive side of the ball.

Only players I would add to the offense is a pass catching te and a back up running back.

The he defense would be the primary focus this off season.

I would also like to see a quality FA tight end brought in, one that can stretch the field. We need to build this team to beat the ravens so along with a solid fast TE we need to upgrade our OT's, ours look like kids out there trying to block Thuggs and dumberville. The offense is close, the defense is a lost cause, build the offense.
