    Agreed.

Its a 60 minute effort. Sorry but deep in the 4th they had tread marks being run over. I didn't like they moved of Cam to the outside. Tomlin said it was because of the lack of OLBers. What? Also at times soft secondary play. Witherspoon was a highlight reel.

Now don't get me wrong they were holding the $hit out of Highsmith and Reed all game.

Bet most on this board when a sack is made is jumping up and down. And they ain't thinking sexy.

They lost the game mainly because Gunner gifted the Patriots a TD, with his muffed punt .

I didn't get a chance to sit down and wax poetically about the game, it's been hectic weekend for me.

RE: New England. Been a while since I've seen them drop 2 in a row.
I like Mac Jones as a QB, I think he's going to be very good, and he has a great mentor.
Mac understands that he needs to move the chains.

Pittsburgh, as I've said before, isn't an outstanding roster but it isn't a horrible one either.

    From a high level:
QB - Mitch is playing safety ball. His play log is just loaded with 1 to 5 yards passes and longer incompletions. I had really hoped he would spark that offense some.
And as some have mentioned, you do see receivers getting open and being missed. Mitch should be around the 7yds/pass range.
My thought is that Kenny Pickett better be adjusting his chin strap. I think they will be calling his number soon. Kenny does see and can make those splash plays.

Running game - since the QB cannot threaten downfield, defense can creep up next to the line. I have seen Harris miss a few cutbacks and that is really not like him.
I think Harris will get back in line but for now, whichever RB has the hot hand, I would run them the most. We can see what Harris is capable of as that stiff arm and leap was something else - he's just got to run to daylight.

WR's/TE's - The TE is always the QB's best friend. If Mitch remains starter, he needs to find his TE more often.

OL - They aren't going down as the league's best in 2022 but they are adequate. They looked a little more in synch.

Overall, the Offense had 55 plays and were fairly balanced with 22 rushes and 33 passes. The problem is that they only got 91 on the ground, they need to get to ~125 or so.

Defense - You didn't get any sacks and only hit the QB 3 times and only had 1 TFL. That's not pressure. They gave up ~ 376 yds, 252 of those through the air. NE has a young QB, and they are built to provide max protection to allow Jones to operate and that is what they did.

Right now, Pittsburgh is playing .500 ball.
They couldn't really afford to have TJ injured and are not finding anyway to generate any heat on opposing QB's. I saw a few stunts, dogs, delayed blitzes, so they are pulling some tricks out of the hat, they just aren't working.

Cleveland is playing awful, and this game is certainly a winnable game.
Cleveland's Defense can get after the QB, so they've got to get some play-action working and get the ball down the field more aggressively.
Cleveland's offense is suspect, but Chubb and Hunt can give us headaches.
If Pittsburgh can keep those two in check, they should be able to get after Brisset and cause TO's.

A lot of that falls on the inside backers looking into the backfield instead of watching their man and communicating. They let a guy run free in their zone assuming he will keep going and be picked up by the next guy only that guy is moving to bracket a wr on a deep cross or go route.

Perhaps not eaten alive but drives were continuously sustained by those crossing routes and when they weren't it was QB scrambling.

I don't remember the graphic but standard NE game planning was to force the defense into leaving the designed receiver open. They would use deep routes with bigger receivers to push the safeties back to help cover those routes. Then they would complete a few dump offs to the rb's in the flat to draw the interior guys closer to LOS just to give Edelman that easy crossing route. If the LB's back up, Brady goes back to his rb, if they try single high safety and try to bring one down to stop Edelman, Brady finds the single man coverage and completes the throw. The whole purpose was to dictate to the defense and they did it time and time again to everyone.

OR, STUPID THREAD HERE I COME....

Do you trade Mitch if he flops against Cleveland?

It took Cowher the 1st half of the 1st game to realize he had make a terrible mistake in selecting Jim Miller as the starting QB for the Steelers.
