I'm new to this Forum as a Poster. The urge to post after the Bill's game was overwhelming. I've been an avid Steeler fan for as long as I can remember & I'm 78 years young. Started rooting when I lived in L.A. Now in Philly. Anyway....................

I'll grant that the Steeler's OC sucks big time (obvious for a long time). Nonetheless, was Duck told not to throw 15-25 yds. passes down the middle of the field? Just about every other NFL team (including the bad teams) routinely are able to complete these type of passes. Did the OC not trust that type of pass (even though Duck had previously shown a strong arm & had completed this type of pass)? Despite this, Duck threw several bombs which were intercepted. This makes no sense to me: it's OK to throw bombs but not OK to throw mid-range (15-25 yds) passes. Furthermore, where were the slant passes (MIA evidently)?

My opinion is that the game was lost by the OC. One of the worst-coached games I've ever seen. Duck was put in a no-win situation by his OC. Anyone agree with my conclusion?

Duck can't see over the oline unless he rolls out. Coaches know this but try to get cute letting Ben handle the playbook.

I like Duck, I think he is very football smart and deadly accurate with great touch and is more athletic than any of our other QBs......

Problem is he doesn’t have That NFL Arm. Or at least he hasn’t shown it. No 35 yd out on a frozen rope..... No fastball into a tight window or 65 yarder in the air down the sidelines.......

Against elite CBS and Safeties once they realize you don’t have the arm strength to make those throws they’ll play off and “bait” you.

Mason has a much better arm but it’s barely NFL Caliber. He has a gunslinger mentality like Favre but doesn’t have His Arm.

This only solidifies how much Ben really means to this team and how it will be difficult to finally find his replacement. Landry, Dobbs, Rudolph and Duck are all huge drop offs in QB play. Fitch didn't help Mason or Devlin by hand cuffing them for the most part but when you see them in action then maybe he didn't have any confidence in them too begin with by seeing them in practice.

He can say he is working hard, but he has to prove it, not just saying i
Just from the visual of his rotund body, doesnt indicate a working hard routine to me.....

The offense wasn't terrible last season when the team had adequate QB play.

Ben has plenty of time to get in shape before training camp starts.

Was watching some highlights of Ben from 2016. Holy hell he looked beautiful. None of our qbs can make those throws he does or at least did.

beautiful zips in the middle, deep long bombs in stride, the fades in the endzone
