Short yardage. Hard to find a split that fleshes that out without having some external noise baked into it, but Harris averages 2.4 yards/carry with 20 TDs inside opponents' 10 yard line. Warren averages 1.2 y/c with 1 TD. Of course, Harris has been used far more in these situations (62 attempts vs. 12), but that doesn't erase the fact that we haven't seen Warren show he can muscle through short-yardage situations when needed.

I'm sure mac daddyo can provide some other options. He insisted that there were many, many options.

Is some of that external noise the fact that Warren is bad at pass-pro so everyone knows it's a run play?

Right now, Najee Harris is the better all-around RB of the 2. Just my opinion based on what I have watched.

right player , right price. have to consider future contracts, future offense looks and age / wear and tear, etc. I still think we should have / could have picked up that 5th yr option - that is a head scratcher to me as with many here.

some prefer Harris, others Warren. Preference is.....preference.

chocolate ice cream, coconut, or strawberry.

we will get over Najee, #trust-me.

He never made it to elite Steeler HOF talk - about - forever status, for many reasons, some of which were never his fault.

Possibly. Simple fact of the matter is that Harris is the bigger back, and gets the lion's share of short-yardage work. Doesn't necessarily mean Warren would be poor at it given the same reps, but in general backs of Harris's size/strength fare better in those situations.

warren is not bad at pass protection. that was one of the reasons he was even considered during his rookie year. he was knocking the crap out of people in pass protection.

Absolutely. I remember him making highlights on one of the networks for trucking blitzers.

He's pretty good , but not as good as Najee....it's not the effort.....its the knowledge, and He might get that in more time.......I guess You forget the times He didn't block anyone, or totally blocked the wrong man. That's the difference in his pass blocking....not his strength, or determination.

Picking up blitzes is more than just leveling guys. It is reading the defense and going to the right spot to pick up the rusher who comes through. That is where Harris is superior to Warren.

You do, so you just went for the lame personal attack. You said there were great options. There was a post analyzing options likely to be available that seemed to refute your claim. If you had a good response, you would have offered it by now. Instead, you are trying to cover it with this personal nonsense. Please do better.

Here is how it goes within my circle about Warren and Harris.

1st Qtr. - Harris sucks they should use Warren
2nd Qtr. - Warren sucks they should use Harris and on and on and on............

As for me I love having both and IMO at the moment I believe our O will be explosive with Wilson at QB. I do worry about receivers.

There will be 76 free agent running backs available next year. Add draft picks. If you can't find one out of probably 100 then you are in the wrong business. How many were on the list you are using as evidence. Dig deeper.

Just because a guy is available doesn't mean he is a good option. Why can't you offer up even one good option?

By the way, here is Thor's post in response to mac's argument that there are a "ton of 2025 free agent running backs available next year."

There are probably "a ton" of backs available every year. That doesn't mean there are many good options, certainly not many as good or better than Harris that can be had for one year at $7 million or less.

First player in Steeler history to start his career with three 1,000 yard seasons. Best the Steelers have ever seen running behind one of the worst O-Lines in Steelers History.
