agree, to some extent. Still don't think I'd love him, even if he were 2nd or 3rd round pick. But yes, it stings more being a highly touted AL RB first rounder, when we had greater needs that year.
    thanks Tom-Bert!

will be very interesting to see who gets long term contract extension talk in the offseason.

for MikeyGM, it is easy - it is Warren.....he would come cheaper and he would be more appreciative, IMO. Can always do the 5th yr extension for Najee, if we must....

That's all fine, and good, but then why don't it stop them from complaining on every bad run during the game, but silence on every bad run by Warren. Again I Love both, and I wouldn't break the bank on either rb. There are great rbs coming out of college every year.

Well because Najee has been here for 3 years and still hasn't eclipsed the 4.0 ypc mark yet. Najee also gets many more touches than Warren, so he gets nothing running the ball 10 times a game. Warren still gets stuffed, but its only 3-4 times a game because he gets less touches (for some insane reason). This generates the illusion that Najee gets stuffed more than Warren does. Plus Warren rips off big runs more than Harris does, so he kinda recuperates some of that yardage in chunk plays.

Again, its mostly just a frustration that we spent high capital on a RB and gotten mediocre return from Harris. Harris is just an average player and you'd expect much more from a guy that was so good in college that he justified being taken in the first round when very few backs are good enough for that distinction. Plus it has to do with his size. At 245lbs he would be expected to be harder to bring down. Its frustrating to see so many arm tackles slow him down, or for him to get lit up by a 210lb safety. Warren is smaller, so it would be more expected for that to happen to him. But Warren is smaller and runs strong nearly every run. Harris is about 50/50 on whether he is running strong or running soft.

What it shows is a lot of people don't know what they are looking at. I still don't understand how people can't see the difference on running on a 1st down carry, and a 3rd, and long carry , but when I say this people will say Warren doesn't just run on 3rd downs You know.
Yeah I know, but He does a whole lot. It doesn't take an expert to see when He does get stuffed what down it is, and that is the down Najee usually runs on. Down, and distance matters big time on what a Defense is playing for, and at....Yet many don't take this in mind. Again I Love both , but it's like the whole Ben, and Bradshaw thing.....I feel like I have to defend one....because of the bad things said about one, but silence for the other.

I think it is hard to know what you're looking at and come to the conclusion that Najee is a better back than Warren... I get that Warren is out there on 3rd and long more than Najee and he gets some garbage yardage because of that, but Warren is also successful on non-3rd downs too. Warren's 74 yard TD was on 2nd and 9 in Cleveland. Had a 16 yard TD run on 1st and 10 vs the Packers. His 22 yard run on the final TD drive that got us to the 1 against Tennessee was on 1st and 10. He has also had some big time runs on a few plays on 3rd/4th down and 1 too. He isn't just getting garbage yards. He has out performed Najee this season and there really isn't a viable explanation outside of Warren has played better or is better.

Najee doesn't need defending, nor does Warren really. They are adequately praised/ridiculed for their production this year I believe.

You do know that you don't have to defend millionaire athletes playing a game, right? I'm sure they're alright.

Fair point, but then on that same track must a person tear them down every chance they get, and if You say that doesn't happen.....Just go back to any game thread. Sometimes it's hard not to say things when You see that some don't know a damn what they are talking about, but you must hear them spouting the same stuff that is clearly wrong....over , and over.
Like the Ben is holding Canada's offense back, and Mason is the worst Qb on the team as examples......only to watch those same people...all of a sudden act like they never said those things...., and why did they say them...., because they had no clue what the hell they are watching. Ok ....I'm done. LoL

No, I actually gave very real examples of big plays made by Warren on downs other than 3rd and long... Not sure how I am making your point? It was literally proof that your point was wrong.

Yes, Warren is on the field on 3rd and long more than Harris because of his skill set. That doesn't mean he is getting half his yardage on draws and screens on 3rd and 18. Sure, it is some yardage... but Jaylen has been good on every down for most of the season. Hence the specific plays mentioned in my previous post. Every week for most of the season the announcers would say things like "wow, the Steelers offense sure just feels different wit Warren on the field" or "the offense just has more juice when Jaylen is on the field". Multiple different people in the national media have called for Jaylen to start over Warren (Warren Sapp, Dan Graziano, among a number of others). These are more casual fans of the league and not specifically the Steelers, but it is hardly a sentiment that is shared only by a small faction of Steelers diehards. Heck, Warren even took a single start from Harris this year and ran 16 times for 82 yards (5.1 avg) and a TD in that game. Lots of people have seen how the two have performed and come to a similar conclusion that I have.

Lots of people said T. Edmunds wasn't that bad.
Lots of people said Ben was holding Canada's offense back. Lots of people said Trubisky was good , and it was Chicago.
Lots of people said Mason sucks.
Lots of people say we don't make adjustments.
Lots of people said Canada was a good OC.
Lots of people wanted D. Watson here.
Lots of people say a lot of things that are totally wrong because they don't actually know what they are looking at.
Yes You made My point. Thank You.

Lots of people said T. Edmunds wasn't that bad.
He was never as bad as you made him out to be. If he was a 3rd rd pick most wouldnt have had a problem with him. He was serviceable and available.

Lots of people said Ben was holding Canada's offense back. Lots of people said Trubisky was good , and it was Chicago.
Off season chatter and Tomlins comments had people believing they wanted a mobile QB for Canadas offense. Turned out to be wrong. Lots of people did not say Trubisky was good. Lots of people were hopeful he could be good in a better system and a year learning under Allen.

Lots of people said Mason sucks.
    He does.

Lots of people say we don't make adjustments.
    Every game day thread.

Lots of people said Canada was a good OC.
Again, the word was “hopeful” but he was awful. You nailed that one.

Lots of people wanted D. Watson here.
Not at that crazy price he got and before all the happy finishes came to light.

Lots of people say a lot of things that are totally wrong because they don't actually know what they are looking at.
    Including you.

Yes You made My point. Thank You.
Quite frankly I’m still trying to figure out what your point is.

    1. He was so bad Eagles got Him for cheap, and traded Him away, and then we abused Him in Tennessee.
    2. I can bring up many many many post saying everything I said....I believe Your name will be by some of them, and that is why You are answering this they way You are.

For once...RB is not a problem for Steelers.

Harris and Warren are championship caliber RBs.

Too bad the O line blows chunks.

    1) And yet he and Dobbs both keep getting jobs but Mason had to crawl back to the team he was trying to move on from. :hmm:
    2) You’ll excuse me if I’m dubious when you couldn’t recall saying “everyone” just two post prior in the game day thread :taunt:
    3) You’re still the only one who knows what your point is.
    You as well :drinks:

    Thank you, @Thor@Thor !!!

24 big points from Najee propelled me to my first fantasy championship in nine years! You definitely get an assist on this one! Warren was great too with 15 points, but because of Najee I won by 7. Thanks!

Awesome, congrats! After Warren's TD I thought maybe it was going to be his day instead.

Glad it worked out for you.
