My thoughts on regular season wk 13

1. After the first drive, the offensive play calling reverted to being predictable again

2. Losing Pickett was huge..... I'm hearing that his injury may be significant... if that's the case, then we are officially in major trouble

3. Losing Seumalo and Elandon Roberts was almost as harmful as Losing Pickett

4. Middle of the o-line and Middle of the defense were brutally abused

5. When Watt went down, I knew the writing was on the wall

6. Miles killebrew had one of the worst games I've ever seen from a special teamer

7. Yet another Mike Tomlin trap game loss to an inferior team

8. We were beaten in all 3 phases of the game

9. After leaning on the running game for the last month, the coaches basically went away from that formula and subsequently, hung Pickett out to dry

10. We were once again, badly outcoached

 

Jesus man.... sounds like it went down pretty bad. Couldn't see the game myself I'm afraid. Thank you for the summary @blackandgoldpatrol!!

This team isn't going anywhere. Hopefully we can at least get a positive out of Thursday night if we lose by pushing New England another spot back in the draft, lol.

 

Ugly wins and ugly losses.

This team makes feel dirty and having to spit.

Even with a W, it’s hard to brag because it just feels accidental more than earned. I’m always looking for the other team to beat themselves and maybe we can capitalize.

 

better get a QB if Kenny is down and out and an outside linebacker.

 

Pickett may have broken his ankle. If it were a high sprain, he wouldn't have been able to walk to the locker room so easily. They wasted no time ruling him out so I bet it's broken. I hope he didn't have another concussion, either. Looked like he might have slammed his head down there.

 

I’m feeling like I did many years ago when we let Rod Woodson walk.

We were always playing and often barely making the playoffs and it seemed like the Rooney’s were fine with that. Mediocre teams kept them making enough money to not completely lose the fan base.

Then Ben came along and an earnest effort to make a run.

Maybe Kahn and Weidle can squelch this mediocrity, because I like this past offseason a lot!

Do it again and turn this culture around, but only if they are as productive revamping the coaching staff too. Tomlin’s influence has to be reduced.

 

11. WE have the worst center in the league who single handedly killed the entire first half and set in motion the disaster that unfolded!! Sad thing is he will still be snapping low the rest of the season!!

 

Typical tomlin chit show. Minkah no where to be found. Just ugly.

11. get tf rid of Dj. I never liked this guy, he is claypool 2.0; soft, plays like ass most of the time and has a big mouth. What was that td celebration, he should be angry and worried about the team, instead he f ing celebrates because he had a good moment while his team crashes in spectacular fashion. He does not care about the steelers, all he cares about is him.

 

12. just for kicks, Minkah broke his hand.

 

Great recap, B&G. I’m with you on Killebrew. Guy only plays like 6 snaps and screws up MAJORLY on 3 of them? That’s hard to do.

 

Just one question? How can we call this a trap game? This team can win or lose to the worst teams in the NFL, the Steelers arent much better than Pats, Cards or Panthers.
I realize our record is 7-5 but man, the offense has been lost for years now. DJ catches his 2 td in 2 years and dances like he just won the Superbowl, that wouldve never happened with Cowher on sideline, esp with score being 24-9 at that point.

 

Better get a quarterback with Kenny

 

They say your record is who you are, but I think we are a 2-10 team rather than a 7-5 team.....

 

Steeler fans have a broken football team

 

1. True, a lot of it is still execution, but it wasn't great calling either

2. Not really. It kinda sucks for him, his starting career in the NFL could be ended by injury

3. Big losses. Couldn't afford to lose another ILB

4. Not a good game overall.

5. Never good when Watt goes down. Had a couple of big sacks too. Was playing well.

6. Yeah, This is actually when I knew we were doomed. Bad special teams, weird turnovers... this is how you lose to bad teams

7. I said that this was the trap, not next week. We will probably come out fired up and bury the Pats.... but this one had all the makings of a Tomlin stinker

9. Eh, we ran the ball. They had both their starting corners out too, definitely had reason to throw.

10. Yep. Out coached big time. Can't lose at home to a 2 win team in the playoff hunt... inexcusable from the coaching staff.

 

So you are agreeing we need a quarterback upgrade

 

If Pickett's injury is significant, I would be stunned to see them give up on him after an incomplete season.

Cole needs to be benched. I don't care if they sign someone off the street to replace him. That was inexcusable.

 

Also, you know it's bad when even Boswell misses a kick.

 

Season is over, well it been over just fooling myself,deep down i knew it. Just didn't want to admit it.
